Having just lost one of my last ones, I cant believe I didn't add them to this thread previously. Mk2 Escort 4 Door C pillar trims. I haven't seen a decent one in decades. Here in Australia they turn to powder. Never ever seen a NOS one and all the replicas are for 2 Door cars only. As mentioned in another thread Im having to resort to a 3D printed version just to use as a basic backboard to replace these things.

Cleaning out the garage, found one of these, as new I never used these myself. Yours for P&P (I am in Netherlands). Or wait until I find a 2nd one!

That's great, I can hang on until you might possibly find a second but will take the one if not.

Ironically I am on a survey vessel due to dock in Ijmuiden (Netherlands) in the next couple of weeks but P&P to my home address is ideal.

Thanks, Nige.

OK, if you are (obviously  😁 ) not in a hurry contact me when you get back home and maybe I have found another one.

Surely they allow hobbies on board to pass the time in lonely off hours? I bet they would allow knitting and craft and stuff, its discrimination!

Yes, it's frustrating to have spare time and not be able to work on my classic, this job is totally weather dependent and we've had quite a few days of being weathered down, I will stick to by books and crosswords as still old skool at heart and need to keep the cogs of the old grey matter turning!

An early mk1 escort RHD square plug wiring loom that’s not butchered, broken or ridiculously expensive because it seems the twin cam brigade have snaffled them up? Or that maybe hype used by a certain auto wiring company to justify prices 😂

Laugh is I want to butcher it to run a pinto 😂

Hey you cant blame the Twincam brigade there are not enough of us about to nick much! LOL I bought a new heater fan switch for mine and that was my annual parts budget spent for the rest of year! So I think too expensive is the problem, we cant afford them either! Whats so special about the square plugs that has everybody going?

I contacted a well known auto wiring loom specialist. I said I’d like a loom for my 68/69 mk1 escort he went (sucks through teeth) “oh that’s an early one is it a twink? I said no mate just a bitsa from Malta. He sounded disappointed, by his hmm.

I then said what would be utterly ideal would be to use the original square plugs but essentially it be Rs 2000 minus hazard lights or reverse lights.
I swear I heard the cogs turning and he seemed genuinely confused.

I said ok how about if you just extend the wiring of a 1300 loom for the starter etc. as things are the other side of the bay with a pinto.
more silence followed I thought he had hung up!

Then the silence was broken and he then hit me with a four figure sum as my requirements were custom.
so my car has ground to a halt while I save and or find an early loom.

Im colour blind and rotten with wiring so I dare not touch the original loom it’s buggered up enough without me meddling with it 😂😂😂

Simon and Garfunklel - "The Sound of Silence", its really the pause calculating how much to rip you off. If their brains had a speaker you would be hearing Kaching Kaching! We have all heard it!

So what Pinto Starter arrangement are you using? Like are you using the RS alloy bell housing with starter openings for both sides? Or just the basic Cortina type on the left?

So if you to put the starter on the opposite side would it interfere with clutch cables being RHD?

Morning all, I’m looking for another one of these wiper arm connectors, just had one disintegrate on me.

Miniliteman kindly posted one the last time I had this issue but now looking for another.

My other option is to replace the arms (mine are straight at the end) with the hooked type but these seem to be expensive at around £90 for a reproduction pair!

Annoying that I can’t drive the car due to a small piece of broken plastic!

Thanks in advance.

You can get wiper blades with adapters for straight arms cost alot less than new arms.

Thanks for the suggestion, the bayonet fixing gave me a clue as to what I required so did a search and Amazon came up with these, so I took a punt on them for £8.99 and they fitted perfectly:
