If my old memory serves me correctly, it was a Peterbilt 351 that appeared in the film ‘Duel’, do correct me if I’m wrong 😁

My first job was an evening paper round, when coming up to Christmas, I used to be given a lot of tips as the household’s thought that I did the early morning round as well, I didn’t even know the paperboy that I was taking tips from, well every penny counted as a youngster 😁

Are they the type that you lick and then feel very happy?

My property is accessed via a public bridleway that the owner or neighbour doesn’t maintain, I constantly fill in the potholes, it deteriorates quickly with the high volume of rain that we’ve had, the cars also get dirty every time I take them out this time of the year ☹️

As the title suggests, does anyone have experience of how to rejuvenate a rear parcel shelf, mine is brown and I’ve tried a few different substances to bring it back to life but nothing had improved it, is it just a case of finding a matching coloured paint or is there a proper restoration method available? It actually looks worse than in the photo:

Is their a straight forward way of identifying the AX block? I have a SA Escort 1600 Sport and was intrigued as to whether it had one fitted.

I agree, down here in Cornwall the roads are really bad and there seems to be little money available for proper repairs, my daily drive is a Focus ST with 19” rims meaning rubber bands for tyres, there is still a lot of standing water on the roads that hide the potholes and I’ve had a few of those horrible sounding thuds as I’ve hit one!

Name that Elusive Unicorn Part that you cannot seem to find?

Thanks for the suggestion, the bayonet fixing gave me a clue as to what I required so did a search and Amazon came up with these, so I took a punt on them for £8.99 and they fitted perfectly: -

Morning all, I’m looking for another one of these wiper arm connectors, just had one disintegrate on me. Miniliteman kindly posted one the last time I had this issue but now looking for another. My other option is to replace the arms (mine are straight at the end) with the hooked type but these seem to be expensive at around £90 for a reproduction pair! Annoying that I can’t drive the car due to a small piece of broken plastic! Thanks in advance. -

A little bit too futuristic for us down here in Cornwall 😁 -
I replaced mine, pretty sure that I got the new hose from Halfords.

Can anyone give me an idea of how to clean the outside of my washer bottle or is it a case of buying one in new or better condition?
-
Thanks for the replies, I decided that it would be safer and easier to purchase a new one as there were a few options out there, the yellow fan is slightly smaller than the broken item but it sits nicely in position with the shroud fitted.

Does anyone have a cooling fan for a 1.6 x/flow going spare, clumsy fool here managed to drop a torch whilst the engine was running snapping off one of the blades, tried superglue as a fix but didn’t work and not sure if I can do anything to carry on using it. Thanks in advance.

I have too many scrapyard adventure stories to tell but not the time although one still gives me a constant reminder, I was climbing a stack of cars that were in rows 4 high using the old fashioned style door handles for footings, it was raining and my shoes were caked in the obligatory water/soil/oil mixture, I got to the top car gripping the door handle with my right hand when both feet slipped leaving me hanging by my right arm, I actually heard my shoulder pop out and had to lower myself down carefully left handed until I reached terra firma, a quick roll of arm saw the shoulder ‘clunk’ back in but it has been an aching nuisance ever since! Yes, items finding their way out of the scrapyard mysteriously without payment was a given! I’d had a run in with the bloke that ran the establishment, so was pretty cheeses off but my revenge was to source an identical front light for my Mk1 Mexico that was cracked from a DAF Daffodil 55, fitted down the front of my strides and a bit of breathing in saw me walk out and take my revenge! Happy days 😁

It would have depended on how many pints the assembly workers would have consumed on a Friday lunchtime 😁

Pretty sure that it’s a song by The Police but can’t remember the title off the top of my head!

I owned from 2004 to 2010, had to sell due to personal circumstances unfortunately, it was one of the last Mk1 Mexico’s built, it was ‘P’ reg having been built in December 1974 and registered in September 1975.

Why does the front sit so high, looks like the engine has been removed? -

Sorry but the carbs and manifold were already fitted to the car when I purchased it, would really like to own it again but vey unlikely!
