Mk2 Escort hazard lights? weird going on's

Hi all, Mk2 hazard lights question?

When my hazard lights are on the switch bulb flashes along with all the indicators that work as they should, the issue is that the dashboard indicator lamps don't flash but my main beam indicator doe's although a little dimmer than normal.

The indicators all work as normal along with the correct dash indicator lights and no main beam indicator showing. baffled......

so my questions are

1 should my dash indicators work with the hazards when used?

2  why does my main beam light flash? only with the hazards but works as normal with the full beam. 

 

Ta, owned mk2's for over 30 years and the wiring still confuses/amazes me lol

Have you changed / replaced anything recently?

Dashboard does not have a proper earth connection. At the back of the dash check the brown wire isn't broken, is still attached to the dashboard connector, the strip in the dashboard connector is properly aligned with the flexfoil print of the dash and that the copper strips on the flexfoil print aren't broken.

Are any of your indicator bulbs LED?

Thanks all, I'll check the dash earth first but no I haven't changed anything and no LED's on the car at all. I'll keep you posted
