Nige65 Posted October 18, 2024 Report Posted October 18, 2024 For those that use Prestone premixed coolant in their engines, Tesco have 4 litres on offer to clubcard members for £10.80. I’m being a bit lazy here but can anyone point me in the direction to purchase the Ford blue engine paint?

Preston pre mix is not suitable as it doesn't contain the correct anti rust agent. It is more suitable for alloy blocks. Be careful! Blue glycol is cheap and a 50/50 mix is easy to do. In terms of blue paint, Halfords used to do it or you can get it from Frost online. 😊 1

Nige65 Posted October 18, 2024 Author Report Posted October 18, 2024 Thanks for the reply Vista Estate, I’m sure it will open up a debate 😁 The subject heading should have read Prestone, should have checked before posting! Would it be the Ford Corporate Blue engine paint that is generally used?

I rebuilt an engine some time ago that was all furred up due to wrong antifreeze. What a mess @Nige65. Dont go there. It even furred up the area around the thermostat. in terns of blue it's your call. I did mine Ford black. Frost do a number of blues. Why not ring them.
