Guy Posted July 13, 2006 Report Posted July 13, 2006 it looks rotten to me, are you sure it is worth the hassle????
Rick Posted July 13, 2006 Author Report Posted July 13, 2006 its defo worth the hassle id hope to take it away for lss than 100 id get it on the drive take every piece off it, then chop all the good panels off to sell. the roof is mint and the wings are new just surface rust., i need lots of little things off it for my car. dont get me wrong i wouldnt like to try and restore it it would need a full bulkhead to start with its just rotted away
morcheen Posted July 13, 2006 Report Posted July 13, 2006 if the local srappers spot it they will just take it.i had an old 1600e pinched the other week from a lock-up garage, there was some goodies to come off it,i just put a half shaft in it the day before

That's tantamount to car theft! Are you sure it was taken by a scrappers & not nicked? Did they leave a note? Someone in Torquay recently had a Wolesely Hornet & Avenger Tiger nicked from a lock up garage, they had great sentimental value to the guy as his Dad bought the Hornet Borick, as I've said before it is HIS car, if he doesn't want to sell it then he doesn't want to sell it, stop hassling him or he could end up scrapping it out of spite or just to stop the hassle
Rick Posted July 14, 2006 Author Report Posted July 14, 2006 i see where your coming from but when sum1 phones you and tells you you can have it, you are going to pursue it, you say ud leave the bloke alone but i doubt that you would if you could make some money out of it. either your filthy rich or just pretending to be a do gooder. im a poor scrote so i could do with making a buck or two
Doc Posted July 14, 2006 Report Posted July 14, 2006 He wont sell it ? Nuff said ! Its just one of those things .........
morcheen Posted July 14, 2006 Report Posted July 14, 2006 the 1600e was stripped down to just a rolling shell by my mate,i was going to take the axle, suspension and the front wings off it,and maybe some odds and ends.it was in some lock up garages down an alley,im sure the scrappers took it,as they come and get bits from a mechanic there.if the car was any good it i would have put it in my secure garage, but thats full up. be careful as the high price of scrap is bringing out all the old pikeys
