ajcavs Posted December 20, 2024 Report Posted December 20, 2024 Hi, thought I'd best do a quick introductory post before I start asking questions! I've owned mk1 Escorts off and on for the last 30 odd years and currently have a pinto powered arched mk1. I've just recently acquired a mk1 Transit Jennings Roadranger, it's the ex-Henry Cole Junk & Disorderly transit that is still seen on the current series opening credits. It's running a 2.5l v6 with a 3 speed auto. If anyone can assist with what carb this should have would be very helpful as it has a 38DGAS fitted and the only info I've found so far is that the low compression v6 runs better on the original carb! It does run rich and tends to stall when coming to a stop. Cheers for reading, just hoping there's someone here who knows about these! 3
Dave Knight Posted December 20, 2024 Report Posted December 20, 2024 Welcome to OSF. Nice 2 car garage👍
Miniliteman Posted December 21, 2024 Report Posted December 21, 2024 Is that a 2.5 V6 from a Granada? It used a single Ford Motorcraft carb but if it now has an inlermanifols for a twin-choke carb (like the 38DGAS) then you could try a Solex 32 EEIT or 35 EEIT carb on that.
ajcavs Posted December 21, 2024 Author Report Posted December 21, 2024 Hi, yes I believe it is from a Granada and is running a 38DGAS. Thanks for the info I'll see what I can find.
