Hi all I'm after a bit of help purchased a new car brakes are not to clever I'm losing brake pressure I've bleed the system no air am I thinking that the servo seals will need replacing the a mk1600 ghia thanks

Check if its had new pads or shoes recently,  if not bedded in that can cause the pedal to fall away, as can not having the rear brakes adjusted up.

if i read and understand this right, i am also not clever, like your brakes, you bought a new car, a mk2 escort, i think, if your pressure keeps falling away, it can be a few things,

first, your seals in your mastercylinder are gone, just change them, easy fix, your rear cylinders leak, easy to check, if so change them for new ones complete, onlt seals is a waist of time and money, also check your rubber 3 breakhosses if they blow up when someone els breaks.

if your rear shoes aren't ajusted good, your pedal shouls be hard, and you can pump it up, it should stay there, if not you got a leak, like above,

if you have new pads on old disks, they have to bed in, but your pedal should stay hard.

and for your NEW car, i looked it up, they didn't make those after 1980, so you got stitched up with an old car, sorry about that, not to worrie, i still will give you 50 pounds for it,

This just happened to me recently. I had a cylinder burst and fluid naturally leaked on the shoes so changed them with the Cylinder an just couldnt seem to get the firm after that. Just after a month that sponginess is almost gone clearly from the new shoes bedding in. Now that they are a quick bleed and they should be how they were before.
