Vista Estate Posted March 18 Report Posted March 18 Hi all, I had a Pipercross airfilter in my Escort airbox. During my winter servicing I found the foam part had melted. I've checked the usual stuff like backfire and over fueling but nothing. Has anyone else experienced this? Cheers
Miniliteman Posted March 18 Report Posted March 18 Don't use Pipercross filters myself but heard about this. How old is the filter? Petrol nowadays has ethanol in it and that eats almost everything.

accord83 Posted March 24 Report Posted March 24 I had a PiperX that came with a carb, went straight to my K&N, I didn't fancy the fire risk. The PiperX then proceeded to disintegrate over a couple of years sat on a shelf. Mmmmm🤔 If I was using the engine in a single seat race car where I could keep an eye on it and not just jump in and drive, I might give a PiperX a go though.
