GWtaylor Posted March 13, 2007 Report Posted March 13, 2007 Does anyone know of any good paint spraying compressor's
andrewg1323 Posted March 13, 2007 Report Posted March 13, 2007 The bigger you can afford the better! 50 litres and 8-10CFM minimum
orionmojo Posted March 13, 2007 Report Posted March 13, 2007 The bigger you can afford the better! i was gonna say that. definatly. if it runs out of steam mid pass it'll look shite.
GWtaylor Posted March 13, 2007 Author Report Posted March 13, 2007 thanks bloody hell i didnt realise how much they are only had 200 to spend on one or am i just looking in the wrong places Just found out that they have stopped making etch primer due to the new regulations coming in
xpackken Posted March 13, 2007 Report Posted March 13, 2007 we still get etch prime . but are sysem is now waterbased its ok but flash times are a pain in the arse .. i just got a 2hp airmaster 50 litre tank 50litre reciever on ebay for 100 quid . it will do small jobs and then ill just take the biggys like full respray in to work .. _________________ Mercedes CL Class
john_3.0s Posted March 14, 2007 Report Posted March 14, 2007 If u buy second hand I'd recommed replacing the pressure releif valve and checking the inspection holes in the receiver to make sure its not badly corroded in side. Remember for spraying you should use a water and oil collector and decent regulator so you'll need to factor this in when buying a new one if its not included. I bought mine out the local paper, a big b*gger with a load of tools, air line and other odds and sods for 120 quid.
Rick Posted March 14, 2007 Report Posted March 14, 2007 yeah try anf get a bigger one. i use a piddly little thing and i have to wait for it to fill up every 5 mins... also get a pressure regulator as when the pressure starts to drop it fecks your spray
MightySprocket Posted March 14, 2007 Report Posted March 14, 2007 I just got a Sealey 50L - 8.3cfm off Flea Bay for £107 with a list price of £300 and when it arrived it had come direct from Sealey with 12 months warranty!
Ian1300 Posted March 15, 2007 Report Posted March 15, 2007 I've been toying with the idea of a compressor but not sure what to buy? Would a 60ltr 2.5 hp compressor run any other tools apart from just a spray gun? E.G air sander, cutting tool etc etc Anyone shed any light would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance ian
MightySprocket Posted March 16, 2007 Report Posted March 16, 2007 its not down to the horse power mate, its air displacement, the higher the better
Twinkle Posted March 16, 2007 Report Posted March 16, 2007 heres my one, 150l tank and 15cfm, great fun all those air tools got this one from a machine mart dealer, give them a call and ask for returns to save even more
Ian1300 Posted March 16, 2007 Report Posted March 16, 2007 its not down to the horse power mate, its air displacement, the higher the better OK, the one i'm looking at is 9.01cfm 255 ltr/min would this be powerful enough to run sanders and cutters well? cheers ian
