smudger what you said would make sense, van into camper.. probably explains why no trace of the van now. i thought someone from the avo club would tell us differently?? i was told a couple of years back that there are more escort twin cams known to be left than mk1 vans!!!!!! this was an avo man that told me .. it probably explains why they are getting top money right now, i sold my last mk1 van for £150 DOHHHHHH!. ive been trying to sell my internal organs on the internet to buy that van on fleebay. p.s if anyone wants a cheap kidney let me know........................

escortmad79 i know what your saying but going to shows regularly ive seen next to no vans. but there is always a twink or two, ok i know they dont all go to shows but you just dont see them anymore. maybee the avo bloke was winding me up??? at this moment i personally know 2 people who own twinks but no body that has a mk1 van. maybee we should have a count up on here of vans... over to you all.

Going back to the van that started the thread off, Mexicomark has just posted this on the AVO site

 

this van was turned into a camper in 1973 & suffered front end damage in 1975. I don't think it's turned a wheel since.

It still survives to this day. It's gaining access to it that's the problem.

The last time I saw it would be around 2001.
