DeuceCoupe Posted December 29, 2006 Report Posted December 29, 2006 p*ss me off at work. all they keep on going on about it why have an old car they're unreliable. you should get a new car they are so much better some of them even emailed me some nice new cars so my words to them were F*ck off its my hobby I love old cars. Then I got don't be rude cant bloody win. So I told them, sorry thats me, I say what I mean and if you don't like it tough. I'm not pussy footing round for anyone. Lifes to short get over it. People just dont understand thats my little rant over thanks
Admin Vista Posted December 29, 2006 Admin Report Posted December 29, 2006 I get that at work occasionally too, I usually just take them for a drive most of them tend not to ask any more questions after that.
DeuceCoupe Posted December 29, 2006 Author Report Posted December 29, 2006 I get that at work occasionally too, I usually just take them for a drive most of them tend not to ask any more questions after that. most of them are women and they dont understand and David is gay and hes the worse one that keeps going on. but he isnt offended when I tell him where to go. Its the women that dont like the swearing well tough I don't care
RFChris Posted December 29, 2006 Report Posted December 29, 2006 I get that too, and it fooking pisses me off big-time. Why do you drive an old car? Because you have taste, a personality and a passion....now fook off! Chris
S2 Dee Posted December 29, 2006 Report Posted December 29, 2006 No taste is one reason and I would say jealousy is another, you have something individual that makes you stand out they have a euro-box or Jap crap. No one notices them they hate it! Ignore them and let them compare cup holders in their pukeup 207's. Dee
mk14dr Posted December 29, 2006 Report Posted December 29, 2006 I get 15% respect but 85% abuse about my car at work I could just LOVE driving my car, I even love it when it doesn't start because it can only be something simple. Try fixing ANY modern car at the side of the road, it aint gonna happen Because I have taste, a personality and a passion....now fook off! righteous quote!
Admin Vista Posted December 29, 2006 Admin Report Posted December 29, 2006 I have to admit I do drive a new car too as I just can't bring myself to take the Escort out when there's salt on the roads. I'm not bothered by wet weather like some people and use it as a daily driver for probably 8 months a year. I tend to buy a newish car in Sept or Oct then move it on come March or so.

PMSL I suppose some people can understand that. I have to use and abuse all year round got to be done. I love it. It's in the blood
RFChris Posted December 29, 2006 Report Posted December 29, 2006 I hove nothing against newer cars, i have the Vectra as you know. I have that because i want something safe for the family. Plus, when i do buy my next OSF i'll be able to take my time with it as i won;t be dependent on it. I;ve had old fords as daily hacks though (the MKII for one) and if i were a carefree batchelor i;d probably drive one too. But...i'm not. So i need the new beastie. And also, if the road weren't full of knobs i;d have one,

But the cortina will only have two seats in it when it comes back. child free car Dont get me wrong I use to have a mondeo only got rid of it this year. but old cars do it for me everytime
ZetecVan 2.0 Posted December 29, 2006 Report Posted December 29, 2006 Yeah I get that all the time too. When I'm working in Manchester and I go in the van someone always comments. But when you're driving it, so many people point and smile and wave, (and take pictures) it really makes my day. I use it in all weathers. Today is p*ssing it down and blowing a gale, but my mate rang up asking to borrow something, so I said I'll bring it over, any excuse to go for a drive. I only use my Celica when three of us have to go out, or I'm doing a long drive on the motorway in bad weather.
Trevmk3 Posted December 29, 2006 Report Posted December 29, 2006 just keep telling thewm to piss off and keep emailing them pictures of decent cars like these mostly if you like OSF's then they can all bollox
DeuceCoupe Posted December 29, 2006 Author Report Posted December 29, 2006 yeah think i'll have to do that
kms Posted December 29, 2006 Report Posted December 29, 2006 I personally find it a bit insulting - next time one of these ladies makes rude comments about 'your' car and tell 'you' to get a new one, give them a pair of sizzors and some hair dye and tell them their hair is shit - get it cut! Can you guess who's been having a bad day at work today
