The opening sequence to Buck Rodgers could only be described as "Soft Porn" with Erin Grey. On behalf of all teenage nerd boys, thanks.

Not Made In China - Where is it made?

I ordered some bushes with intent to reuse them but with the ball joint gone on one they both went into the bin. -

Im sure some may wonder why I am a harpee about avoiding Chinese made parts all the time. These control arms I bought locally for the equivalent of 25 quid each three years ago and the tie rod ends were 10 quid each all made in China. I couldn’t get bushes at the time that were cheaper than the complete arms themselves so went with it. But three years on only a weekender cars that pretty appalling. Chinese rubber as perishable as ever! On one tie rod end and one control arm the ball joint had failed completely. Since I got those the quality of Tie Rod Ends has dropped even further with only these alloy things with square ends available! Thanks to @Miniliteman for supplying me with some originals instead. I think you are lucky in the UK and Europe as you have more access to European aftermarket made parts where, since we no longer make anything here ourselves, companies here always turn to China to replace anything and everything. As long as it lasts a year they dont care about any longevity beyond that. -

Not Made In China - Where is it made?
Rally Pack 2000 replied to Rally Pack 2000's topic in OLD SKOOL FORD CHAT
I just got some QH Track Control arms and I vaguely remember someone mentioning that some control arms are made in Turkey? The left and right appear to have been made in different places. The bushes are slightly different and one Side has a really tight ball joint and no securing wire on the rubber boot which is already coming off. Would this be one of the Turkish ones you guys talked about? If i remember they didnt get a favourable mention? -
A general question though, has anyone noticed an improvement using Nylathane bushes in their control arms in general?

Just trying to find who is offering the best prices on Powerflex bushes at the moment. I was after Powerflex heritage TCA bushes but the sellers on Ebay are asking ridiculous amounts. I can get whole arms with bushes cheaper than their bushes alone. Not to mention the usual postage ripoff. Burtons want 62 quid for a single box of bushes! Know any good sellers, we dont have them here so they are going to have to come from the UK? I may just look into quality rubber ones at this rate. Thanks guys

We were talking about TREs in this thread and notices this on Ebay? Does something seem odd about this listing? https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/235875677264?_trkparms=amclksrc%3DITM%26aid%3D1110006%26algo%3DHOMESPLICE.SIM%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D20220405142716%26meid%3Df546cf85bbd64503bab6ee8286460fdc%26pid%3D101506%26rk%3D4%26rkt%3D10%26sd%3D277508667172%26itm%3D235875677264%26pmt%3D0%26noa%3D1%26pg%3D4481478%26algv%3DDefaultOrganicWebWithV11WebTrimmedV3VisualRankerWithKnnV3AndUltBRecallAndCassiniEmbRecall%26brand%3DUnbranded&_trksid=p4481478.c101506.m1851 -

Would you keep it standard?
Rally Pack 2000 replied to Dave Knight's topic in OLD SKOOL FORD CARS FOR SALE
I would leave it standard yes. One thing I have noticed is the most common Escorts left are the RS models. They were saved because of the badge and value. But regular models with no real sporting heritage have been forgotten and they are rarer than the RS models themselves. A standard one like that is precious. Would I keep in 100% original? As much as possible yes but there are things Ford didn’t get right or cut costs for mass manufacturing. If its subtle that most wont notice the change and it offers are greater longevity or cures a nagging fault always present in the original design then Im open to swapping out parts in that instance. -

A Day Out In Your Old Skool Ford
Rally Pack 2000 replied to Rally Pack 2000's topic in OLD SKOOL FORD CHAT
Remember the wrong nuts they set were the Group 4 ones I eventually sent to you. The specific Laser wheel nuts I was after have an extra neck piece beyond the taper to offer better location. -

Wow that is the same isnt it? So the GP1 has flat or tapered seats? The GP1 wheels that were for sale that we were talking about were the German type. A set of 4 were sale for 800 pounds but there is little point getting them if they the same as my Lasers. I was thinking of getting a set of RS wheels or their GP1 equivalent that you were referring too. -

Oh so those GP1 wheels for sale for 800 quid would really not be any difference in appearance to the Lasers that I have now? -
