  1. Right been down my garage again this morning, yes she is fitted with 2" lowering blocks, and yes the rear arches have already been rolled. So its all a bonus. Just ordered a 1" lowering block kit to change the ride height, this will now give me ability to fit 7x13 wheels with my 175/50/13 yokohams. JUST GOT TO GET A SET OF 7x13s NOW!
  2. There are loads of scams on there, if it loo, s to good to be true.............It is! Just check their other items and you will see loads of really cheap items, cars and motor homes etc. They manage to bump someone else's profile. I know this as a range rover I bought on flea bay and also my mk2 rs2000 both got listed again at giveaway prices! Just report the item, thee is a link on each page for this, and flea bay will remove the listing! Pete
  3. And your point is? A bit of a confusing post.
  4. Well like i said, a normal tyre place should have a cheeter, and that will do the biz on the 175s. The choice, is on course, yours. Pete
  5. He should have a thing called a cheeter, it's like a mini air cannon, when he gets the wheel on the rim, he starts to inflate the tyre and uses the cheeter to blast a huge amount of air into the tyre from the rim and it pops the tyre onto the beading. Common practice with most tyre fitting bays?
  6. Don't think he can be up to much, most people with 7 X 13 put on 175/50/13s to assist with the clearances. I have seen loads of posts and pictures with guys, oh and girls, who these tyres fitted. And to be honest once I find a set of 7x13 rims that's the size of tyre I will be fitting. Regards Pete
  7. OMG and I thought my cortina mk2 in the 70s was a bit dodgy. ...............now I think it was a peach!
  8. Doubt that you will hear back from them. You could take it back through e bay as a mistake described item, but that will take weeks. So ask the question ....... is the manual complete. ........did you pay a fortune and expect a new manual. If it's good and usable bite the bullet mate. It's happened to me a few times. Chin up! Pete
  9. Remote gear shift in my mk2 cortina....also wrapped in a towel, or tea towel..........shameful too! Plus many other customising disasters that I am to red faced to admit! Still I was happy with them and that's what's important. Pete
  10. Checked her this weekend and she's got 2 inch lowering blocks on......... So its either full removal and back to standard rear end height, or may be because I will be fitting my rubber bands, 175/50/13s I might change to 1 inch lowering blocks...............decisions decisions lol. Pete
  11. Had a look about on Google and Google images, no joy! Have you tried the drag and drop option on Google images? Could work.............maybe, if your a it wiz, m which I am not. Hope this helps. Pete
  12. I picked up my centre caps from flea bay, 63 mm, and then I bought 4 x black and silver rs decals yet again from flea bay, and they look great for pennies! Hope this helps, oh and my wheels are 6 X 13s from 1984, so very probably capri ones. Regards Pete.
  13. Think I will look to cut them down lol. Or just leave it with the lowering blocks, I'm sue I will make a decision either way. Cheers guys. Pete
  14. They should be the same, well that's my impression anyway. Pete
  15. Blimey I was only looking for some standard u bolts! It does make me laugh how heavy some of these posts can get, mind if you want to see heavy you should go onto the rs owners club forums.................never seen so much bitching lol. Happy days, at least you get answers to queries on here, you just get some boring spotter telling you how wrong you are for doing anything different to your car on the rs site!
  16. Could be time to invest in a fire extinguisher lol. Lucky escape!
  17. Many thanks for the response, I could check if there is enough thread to cut down, some of the flea bay ones say they can be cut down. Tap and die, no chance lol.
  18. Hi all, As you may know, if you have seen my other threads, I am looking to replace my standard 6x13 rs wheels with something larger, 7x13. I have had all your assistance in relation to possibly having my rear arches rolled, and that's not an option. So this morning I went to my garage to check whether she has been lowered - and yep she is sitting on 2 inch blocks and longer u bolts. So my idea is to remove the lowering blocks, does not seem like much of a job as she is already on axle stands with the wheels removed. I have looked for standard length u bolts but have only seen long one on flea bay, that will need cutting down! So anyone know where I can purchase standard length u bolts for my mk2 rs2000? As always your assistance will be greatly received. Cheers Pete
  19. Hi mate, yeah I saw them, but with some big old scratches I don't think they are worth 250 squid. You can get brand new ones, without tyres which is not an issue for me, for under 300 squid. I have a couple of sets on flea bay on watch, one set fairly close, and the others an over 4 HR round trip so not so good. Thought there would have been loads of people on here with 7 X 13s shoved away in corners of their garages lol. Cheers mate, Pete.
  20. Sweet wheels, I am looking to get a set simular! Show pics when fitted mate.
  21. Bit too pricey, but thanks for the nod. Cheers Pete
