  4. Brilliant, glad you had no issues..........well one minor one but sorted! Pete
  5. I have an auto choke on mine, but I did manage to find a manual conversion kit for my weber 32/36, but as the auto works perfectly I have not fitted it. A guru on here will advise you on what you need and where to get it, good luck Pete.
  6. I am sure that you will be fine............remember patience is a virtue lol.
  7. Won't any universal choke cable fit?
  8. A set of front tarox discs have just gone on flea bay, brand new 150 squid! Be quick. Pete
  9. Sweet motor, Sue I saw that on flea bay recently? Hope all, goes well with her.
  10. Thanks for your help, I will try again later................but I am such a dinasour that I would not know how to reduce a picture file size
  11. I have managed to attach the same picture into a post, I have not made it smaller and it attached just fine? Are you allowed more picture file size on posts and not on edit a picture in the garage? Any help greatly received. Ta, Pete.
  12. So went down the garage this morning, new battery in hand. Installed.............3 pumps of the throttle, and turn the key................started straight up and ticked over lovely. Not many modern cars you could leave for 5 months and have then start with no issues. So wheels now fitted with the 1 inch lowering blocks. K & N filter fitted. Door cards cleaned up, and blank speaker grills fitted to fill the holes already in the custom cards, just tidies them up! New RS2000 graphic installed on the front bib spoiler. Sorted out the switches on the dash, cleaned up the connections and got the hazard lights to operate correctly, and also took out the original non working ciggarette lighter unit and installed a new mk2 escort one, all working correctly! Pictures below of how she now looks now............along with Kermit on the drivers seat (my wife calls the car Kermit and bought me one for Christmas).
  13. Hi, just tried to change my car picture in the garage section, it would not update as it said the file was to big, it's just a normal picture taken on my phone and downloaded onto my tablet. .................can you help please? Cheers Pete.
  14. Make sure you let us all know how it goes at the Chelsea cruise.......................used to go there in my mk2 Tina gt when I was 17 and 18! Happy memories, the drive up from southend was always a manic race lol! Pete
  15. Hi debs, A chassis number would be good, as you can decode these, and rs chassis numbers are pretty easy to decode. Pete
  16. Like i said my car is disabled in my tiny garage, but today I installed and wired up my cibie 40i spotlights, tested them with jump leads to the battery terminals via my motorbike, all working! I also took a couple of pictures of the wheels on, bear with them as it's tight in there! But you get the picture lol. Cheers for the comments - and now it's some minor interior switches etc to do!
  17. Got the rs badges of e bay, cost a fiver, they come in black with silver rs or silver with black rs. Come in a set of four. Just peel of the backing and fit carefully ensuring a bubble free fit, and from 5 feet they look like a ford part lol.
  18. Cheers they do look the business...............sure the purist would not be happy, but my car my rules lol.
  19. That price was £327 ish! £32 and I would have bought a hundred sets lol!
  20. Well after weeks of looking and not seeing any 7 x 13 inch wheels that were in a condition that I would be happy with, as I have priced refurbishment and if that was the case the wheels would have to be nearly at a give away price. So I bought, via e - bay (wharfgarage), a set of jbw 7 x 13 minilights. Polished rims with a gun metal coloured insert (cost including p & p also with new chrome valves and 16 metric stainless wheel nuts £32 ish give or take a quid or two). They look the dogs danglies! Went to my usual tyre fitting place, they would not fit them as they only had a metal foot on their tyre machine arm and said they would scratch them, so a run over the road to ats, they would not fit them either as they don't have a plastic foot on their machine, although they have one on the van, but that was not there! So of to slough tyres, no problems they said, and they were brilliant with all the very latest equipment, no damage no issues! So on with my supplied yokohama 175/50/13 no issues, straight on, and they used the new chrome valves supplied with the wheels, then a balance. Total fee £12 per wheel which I thought was right on. A quick clean up at my garage and then fronts on and then the rears, and to be honest I think that they would have had no issues if I had left on the 2 inch lowering blocks, but no issues at all now i have 1 inch blocks on. And with the deep dish they fill the space in the arches, but with the small tyres keep the south London look! So now just have to get the cibie 40 spotlamps wired up and do the interior jobs, fit the battery and then I should be ready to rock and roll! Pictures of the wheels and tyres prior to fitting ( can't do pictures of them on as my garage is tiny and I have no battery fitted).
  21. Hi vista, think your link is for MINI ally cats?
  22. The 38 is V similar to the 32/36. Except obviously the choke size is 38 and unlike the 32 both chokes open together as the throttle is applied, where as the 32 chokes open one at a time as the throttle opens until both chokes are fully operational. You can get away with a mild road cam I. E. 285 lift without gas flowing, but it can be never ending you end up chasing your tail. In the 80s I had a mk2 rs2000, with a single 45 dellorto on a lynx manifold, and along with that she had a piper 285 cam. Once I got her rolling road tuned she was well sweet, mind the single box Janspeed system was far to noisy especially as I was bringing her home to the UK from my work in Germany! Still I was young so it was all that I expected at that age!
  23. Hi again, Still on the lookout for a set of 7 X 13 inch wheels for my mk2 RS2000. Looking for minilites/superlites/RS replicas or compomotive penta. Let me know what you have got, look about in your garage or shed for those wheels you put aside. Hope for some responses. Cheers Pete.
  24. Yum yum...................cake
  25. Like everyone has said, how deep is your wallet. Met a guy when I was at the rolling road with a mk2 Mexico rep that was stunning, he was running well over 200 bhp, but he was chewing through gearboxes like no tomorrow. But it was a sweet motor, I think he is on here too, Kevin?
