Nice one mate, I love a good pop Mate of mine has a real nice Y, and its great fun. Good luck with it. -
2"? That looks lower than that, or is that on top of the 1" lowering of the standard RS? I want mine this stance really so I think with the Mk1 it'll end up 3", Ermine white on the polished lasers I have, just hope it doesn't catch too much

I'm in Allhallows, ahem. I think I'm one of the very few without webbed feet. I haven't had the Anglia on the road for a while, just been doing an engine refurb but work in London so is a 7 - 7.30 job when you add the travelling and my gf soo lives in Gillingham which loses time for me travelling to there so haven't spent as much time as I'd like to on it, but its going soon hopefully as it was only meant as a runabout while the Mk1 was being done, but turned into a project of itself, so I'll have the mk1 worked on soon. Where did you have the bodywork done mate? I can't decide how far to go with it, just get it on the road or have the roof redone and tidy it up and bare metal it etc. Hmmm.

Mate, its not what they advertise that thyre selling you, I spent £130 on front & rear screen, boot rubber, door rubbers and some window brushes for my Anglia and what they sent me was a load of standard rubbers from a roll, none of which fitted anywhere near the way that the originals did - the boot rubber on an anglia is like a large square with an oval shaped aperature in the middle, to keep out the water from under the boot lid and likewise the door rubbers are shaped to fit the on door. What they gave me was a roll of rubber strips that could have been from any modern car and fited to thye door aperature instead, but weasn't shaped so it would have left water sitting in all the gaps and rotted my car out. The door window brushed were longer than the actual doors and thicker than the slots they are meant to go in, so even if I cut them they wouldn't have fitted. Even more confusing was that there were no instructions on fitting them. When I called him to ask how they are supposed to be fixed he said I should have asked for a tub of adhesive, which when I called to pay he didn't mention and when questioned about the brushes he askerd me if I'd asked to purchese the clips to fit them, which wasn't advertised or mentioned, despite the fact that if the brushes too thick then extra clips wouldn't fit in place, unless I hacked the inner frame of my door! When questioned that they weren't as advertised and that it would make a mess of my restoration he shrugged it off and asked about adhesive he told me to go and buy some super glue from B&Q. As it was I was not happy and returned all the items except the windscreen & rear screen rubber which did fit and were desperate for, although I had to return to Autoglass twice before it stopped leaking. The rest I wrote a letter with asking him to refund me my £70 outstanding for the parts he sold me under false pretences and posted them by recorded delivery so there is no way they did not get to him. That was about nine months ago and I didn't get a reply. Grade A Cu*t.

It'll have to wait till I get it going properly yet, but yeah, it'll go down to 3" again I reckon, it'll look sorted then. Dude your Mk3 tina rocks, and I really love your Mexico Johnny. Where abouts are you, your not far from me are you? Once I get the Mk1 done we'll have to go for a blat up to the Ace or Ashford mate That yellow transit from the paintshop you had that done is in a village loacal to me too, its got white roof red stripe and a thunderbirds style no 3 on the doors now
-
That's a bastardised ol truck, I love the whole Mk3 front on the Mk5 cab but not sure the sierra bed works, I know they dont rust as much though. How about a light bar with 4x KCs, dropping the front & jacking the rear and putting some big n little slot mags on it with a Punisher-style skull stencilled on the door? That would look mean!

I was just wondering how low your cars are? When I got my Mk1 it had a drop of 3 inches in it, but corroded lowering blocks stacked up all fell out when we loosened the axle and the struts lunged at my face where the springs had been cut and tied My brother bought me some 1" lower springs which I exchanged for 2" and 2" blocks, and I think it sits way too high still but I got bought a RAC jack for christmas and decided to use it found its well crap as its an inch higher than my cross member and has the tiniest cup ever, like balancing an egg on a needle and it decided to let itself down everytime we tried to push it. As a result the crossmember I had blasted and sprayed is crap due to my ol mans impatience, and he tried tugging at it by the arch which isn't yet welded as they were having furnature delivered, tell ya I was pissed. But I think it looks gay and needs to be down by 3" at some point in the future, just wondering if anyone with slammed motors has trouble with the roads as I'm rural and there's a few potholes buit more in town with the ramps I'm worried by as I dont want to lose my Ashley. I'll have to be more careful, as I sometimes try an clear the level crossing when i'm in another car

Yeah my sister had hers put down two years ago, he was 15 and 17 hands tall, but he was quite gentle, she had another one after but just had a baby so he had to go, but wasn't the same when you grow up alongside one. She was pretty good at dressage till he refused to box, then just taken on hacks. Good luck with it

I might pop along, just north of the river from me, though last time I went there wasn't much in the way of decent bits except an 50s F100 pick up that was way over my price range and a nice Hemi Cuda. Is that your horse Deuce Coupe? What events do you do, showjumping or point to point? I haven't ridden for a few years now, my sister's thoroughbred cross had to be put down last year at 15, my mum's old welsh cob the year before, trhough he'd been badly treated previous so no one could ride him as he was a fruitcake! Only thing we've got now is a pony, cos no one else wanted her/could do anything - been badkly treated so cant get within ten feet of her but just started following us about so we had her, might as well give her a nice end to life. We always end up with these strays no matter what they are

That looks really tall to me to fit a Brit Ford, though it'd squeeze into a MK3 capper, though it might need a Camaro Z28 bonnet scoop to give it some clearance which would suit the MK3 quite well I suppose.
-
It is, but in my opinion they just look tack and ruin the shape. I liker them on a few cars I've seen but not many, Mk1s look nice with a clean uncluttered bodyshell, except maybe with cibies and arches.

Yeah Vista, but that really is a poor movie. I saw it at the cinema and what a waste of an evening. My gf took me to see miss potter and charlottes web and I tell you now they were a damned site more enjoyable to watch

I've seen that before but still its shocking. That must have been a broken back at the least!

I did that when I was ten. I had a petrol go kart my brother built me, still have it and about 20 engines, but was blatting it along on some disused roads and it cut out. My dad ran up to me and started it, and asked if he could have a go, so I stood on the bar on the back while he blasted up to where he'd parked the car. About halfway down the road, I strted slipping on the bar, he couldn't hear as the engine was between us and I had a lid on and it was a choice of jump off and roll or slip into the axle, only he'd sat on my sleeve so I jumped and got dragged on my knees flat out at 30 the rest of the length of road.

I find it amusing, yet disturbing, though trying to go through the forums and someone walks past seems so incredibly wrong *shudder*

Happy Birthday dude! Argh for some reason Cliff Richard singing congratulations came in to my head then, how fooked up is that!? Well congratulations anyway

Nah, it'll show up the dirt too much especially with the curves of the body and being so low and kinda like the idea of it being a bit more stealth (if thats the word - it sets off alarms when it starts up). Had thought of Blue with white stripes like the originals, but its been done to death now, as per white with blue on the stangs. Thing is the originals were very dark non-metallic blue, most use a lighter shade as per the cossie or something similar, as when applied it doesn't sit well on the fibreglass body. He keeps going on about black or orange, I think the grey would look cool though, especially with the anthracite rims.

The front wing looks pretty mangled so I'd reason its got some pretty hefty frontal damage, but the rest of it looks as tidy as they come, that back panel and quarters look mint and Icould use that roof panel on mine at a later date.
-
Mate if mine looked that nice I'd be well chuffed. Get rid of that orrible bib spoiler for a start, slam it a bit more, fit an original RS2000 interior and fit some 7x13 supalites, or 7.5 x 13 RS four spokes look so nice on an Olympic Blue RS2. Oh, and by the way, don't even mention vynal roofs They are best left in the 70s.

My dad used to drive one of these for our little local garage years ago, before they replaced it with a Bedford TK. The guy told me they scrapped it a couple of weeks back, but I'm sure I can see it in a hedgerow out back, where its been sat since the 60s. Its remarkably surving quite well, as it hasn't been cared for. Its a 1942 Chevrolet M6, used to tow trailers loaded with bombs to B17s in the war, and has a hoist on the back with open cab. The one in the garage has all original markings and paint visable, but weather beaten, with wooden garage sign on the roof and a home made crane and hand winch! They wouldn't sell it, rather it rot there.

The Ford A series? There was one of these outside a bungalow in the middle of nowhere near me for years. There's a cool pic in the gallery of a D series, A series, Mk1 Transit and Mk1 Escort Van, and a D series. Can't be many left now. http://www.fordaseries.co.uk/index.html
