Really can't stand ferraris, they piss me of as much as porsche drivers, haven't a clue about the motor they just want to pose. Working in canary wharf see them everywhere and all sprint from one traffic light to the next making as much noise as possible .... but i reckon if they saw a real open road they'd sh!t themselves. Much prefer my bro's cobra anyway, and it makes one hell of a noise! -
2 door for me I'm afraid, I'd love a Mk1 Mex!

Yeah, well you can celebrate St Patricks day cos you'r in a free country, Britain it seems you're allowed to celebrate your national identity and be patriotic as long as youre from another country. For god's sake Chinese are allowed to celebrate their new year, hindus muslims and sihks, which is great to see someone trying to retain their identidy, but if you're genuinely British and say that out loud and that your proud all of a sudden you're a racist, supressionist, member of the britsih national party, pro-slavery, imperialist and founding member of the klu klux klan! All this PC stuff is driving me mental. Why is it that anywhere else in the world if you move there then you have to daapt and make an effort to respect their culture and customs while here they can move in and push it aside. My girlfriend is half chinese/malaysian & half irish, so I'm not particularly bothered by race, but I do ask that they should respect our national heritage. For some reason they've taken all the words of Martin Luther King and the black civil rights movement in America and used them against the British folk, which in itself is wrong because they were making a point about the klu klux clan being legal in southern states, segregation, uninvestigated murders by policemen themselves, whereas here it seems slightly exagerated that just disagreeing with someone of another culture will get you grilled.

I saw the Chunk tee shirts with the Haynes Mk2 capper diagrams on, but really want either a MK1 escy or Anglia 105E tee, that'd be cool. Maybe if we could get authorisation we could all chip in and get some really cool tee shirts or hoodies done using the drawing with the OLDSKOOLFORD logo in a similar fashion?

Yes Mark, there's a hole in the back pannel for the cable to go through, but it wasn't mine as its been sat in the shed for the last five years. I checked it and hasn't been on the road since 97 This year though The rims are quite cool too, original RS steels but they seem even wider, perhaps cos of the rubber they're on. I've got some polished Lasers for it to sity on that look the dogs but the RS ones will be for bad weather.

First Bugatti Veyron to be wrecked on public roads

Yeah just need to do that to the rest of em, god that's hideous... Whatever happened to real legends like the Jag XJ220 and McLaren F1, for something solely designed to be fastest of the fastest they were just gorgeous ... oh yeah, they were British Shows we can better the Italians. Supposed to be 4 wheel drive that thing too, funny it can't deal with wet weather My brother was avalve technician, and got sent to loads of factories, he took me to Williams F1 where I was on "work experience" and managed to pick up part of Ralf's 98 car's front wing, he got me posters from Benneton and kept part of a rear wing from Couulthard's McLaren F1 Car. He also took some pics of the production line for the F1 road car and sat in one, and was given the carbon "McLaren F1" badge from the dashboard, he went back to their new plant recently where they're building the SL roadsters, the plant looks fantastic. All of them have polished white tiles on the floors and computer desks all round where the cars are built, and the engineers all wear spotless white coats, it not what you'd expect in a car factory. -
Oh great,my brother in law let me drive his one tound the fields (his dad has one of the biggest local farms, and we're freinds with all of them), great especially the V8 grunt. Guess I was 15, scaed him a little doing slaloms between the round straw bales Personally though, I love my parents ol Series 2A, we used to have so much fun off road, I will get it going again I mean that!

Get it done! There is no way that that is a write off unless is bent the rails, if you could get a couple of quotes in writing and send them to your insurers along with photocopies of the classified ads highlighting the cars true value perhaps you could persuade them otherwise, if not then get it done yourself and jus say you fixed it and send them the bill. I dont see the point in insurance companies half the time all they do is take your money and give you nothing back. My mum had loads of work done on her fiesta a while back as a neighbour crashed into the front of her, then a bus hit it up the back (kids snowballed the windscreen, yet for some reason he wasnt going slow in the snow in residential area, anticipating the little shites would be playing with snowballs or think to press the brake when he couldnt see where he was going) and sent her flying up a kerb into a sign, yet the insurance company said it wasnt worth anything despite having agreed value got a bit back but not much after months of threats. You can get it back mate don't worry, if I were you I'd get it done, then when they say to write it off send them the repair bill and tell em you fixed it -
come on mate, that bonnet logo is tasteless they wouldn't do that from the factory. It looks like a nice base tyo work from mate, ever really liked them with add ons myself but a flat front air dam and a respray in grey would look really mean. I do like the tailgate though. Nice one

Ben if my brother's up 4 it can we take the Cobra? Not strictly an old skool ford I know, but its done as close as you can get to the original Ford/Shelby/AC albeit with a BIGGER ENGINE! well, without paying for one of those stupidly priced alloy bodies anyway. Its a 70s Ford 460 motor? Its just waiting for paint.

Hey peeps, all in all had a great one ... Got the Anglia pretty much in one piece again, my neighbour lent me an engine crane he uses to lift his Harley for cleaning, it was great and came from a hospital, used to lift patients in and out the bath! Hence it had no counterweights but the legs faced forward and the angle adjusts with a lever, so you can straddle the wheels frrom the side! and the hydraulic pump was on a swivel, so you can operate it from 360 degrees! Cool eh? Anyway got that in and pretty much waiting to pick up the petrol tank and them to send me the correct oil pump and its a runner! This really pissed of the gf though cos I didnt see her who doesnt get the car thing, but its taken so long cos I spend all my time chasing her than working on it! I dunno. Anyway tookher to see Ghostrider last night, bloody brilliant and I well reccomend seeing it. My workmates are pushing me towards getting my bike test done for the summer, and my boss has a Buell in bits, so when the Escy's done, maybe

I'd feel terrible if that were me, I really feel for you mate, but it is repairable mind. My sister had my brother's mk1, the car in front stopped as the car in front was turning right across the road on a straight A road when some prat in a pug slammed into the back of her, the back bumper was pretty much touching the back axle and stuffed the front in, the only thing we got back from it was one door, the wheels, running gear, broken bucket seats and a reakllybent steering wheel. It was bright Daytona Yellow for god's sake! -
I marshalled on that when they did a stage on the old refinery site at Grain a few years back, it was pretty good day and there were quite a few old Mk1s and Mk2s. A Saxo pulled into our marshalling point with the strut hanging off, so we strapped it back up using ratchet straps from the spare wheel and cable ties and sent then on their way Was with my bros work mate who knew I had a Mk1, and he used to do a bit of rallying in a Mk1. I finally asked him about the spec and he said it was a Mex with a Twin Cam in ... "Lotus I asked?" "No, BDA he replied" Apparently he had the motor laying round for ages in his garage after but they didnt fetch the prices they do today.
