Cheers mate, how about black Shelby stripes? Thanks. I wasnt convinced with the orange, that's his idea but the rest of its near as original as possible, except a bigger engine than the original and 16" rims rather than 15"s (won't go through SVA as the tyres aren't proven to be capable of the top speed of the motor or something), but that looks good I'd like to see it the grey with black stripes like Elanor if at all poss, if you get time.Very very much appreciated

Give us some idea of whichj colour to paint my brother's cobra? Firstly could someone do it very shiney black, also dark blue with white shelby stripes, grey with black shelby stripes and finally Focus ST orange? Oh and the pipes and roll hoop are going to be Satin black with black & silver plates if at all possible. Thanks so much. Here are some pictures for you to go on, taken on the tunnel run at the weekend, if I can get the pics to work. Cheers. IMG]http://i167.photobucket.com/albums/u144/105nick/TunnelRun4.jpg[/img]

£7500! What does he think it is for christ sake. Its not had anywhere near that spent on it. If it had full milton kit and a lotus twin cam then sure maybe, but it still had the 997 in it, just a quick blow over with metalflake and some stereo kit and tacky accessories. I was quick to defend it at the time as it means it's another anglia on the road, but it seems he had it done to make a quick buck.

Yeah but my granddad would have said that and he smoked a pipe No seriously, we're considering doing my brothers cobra similar to elanor from gone in 60 seconds, but on tin tops its everywhere at the moment. -

Hi mate, I was reading that copy last night, I'm hoping to have my Mk1 along the lines of Jon's Mk1 Escy in that issue, albeit a little bit more used & abused looking on 4-spokes. I love your tina, it looks superb what with the original airfilter unit on - proper sleeper! Hope it all works out well, it'll be great to seeit at some of the meets in future. By the way I bought the sit up n beg pop for my brother's xmas present, almost didn't give it away Well impressed with it.

I wasnt sure at first, that shade of grey makes it look like a dreadnought at first, but I quite like it. The gunmetal that ppl are saying about is on virtually every passat, rover, audi and skoda estate you see on the road so not sure, its a bit boring now and greys date pretty quickly. I mean take an Anglia for instance, if you were to go back to the 60s would you order a new one in Purbeck grey? With all those great two tone pastels on offer? I know I'd have a redwhite one or blue/white one, grey wouldnt cross my mind. Having said that I like the idea of the white wheels they do set it off well, there was an X pack in CF years back with white 7.5s and it looked nice, and the vents are kinda reminiscent of the Zakspeed capris, but they were spaceframed. As said they'll serve no purpose at all, and then you're doing the whole vents/wings/kits that are unnecessary, that we slate and laugh at hatch drivers for. Up to you mate. -
My Mk1 was built November 73 and has tin plates fitted, well one tin and stick on numbers on the bonnet.

That looks superb mate good luck with it!

That would look the dogs b*llocks imo.

Whatever Happened to?-----------------------------------
105Nick replied to V8ian's topic in OLD SKOOL FORD CHAT
Went on it yesterday in my brothers Cobra, fookin awesome I tell ya! Cant beat the sound of a Big Block Ford V8 with sidepipes, distinctly lightened of muffling material the round ones there's average speed checks in Blackwall - we got one flash already! oops. -
I'm also a member of 105Speed, Neil's site who's a member on here as its a great source of parts and tips for the Anglia, likewise the Anglia Owners Club as, well, its the only place you can get hold of a lot of parts for the ol gal, but spend the majority of my time on OSF.

Erm, beg to differ mate but we left a brand new SV1000 for dead in my brother's cobra, and it's only being run in so wasn't trying anything, and I don't think it'd have much of a struggle to out drag a Gixer either once its run in

Ha, one of my sisters boyfriends when she was at school had a wolseley like that, he was about 7ft tall with long ginger hair and was into cradle of filth. tw*t.

My Mk1s that colour, I so wish I could sell the Anglia instead now One of thems got to go, and the escorts by far better, just I've spent a fortune obn the anglebox and won't get what I paid for it back let alone what I've spent -
I've had quite a few people wave at me, though I know a few of them now. I ended up following a guy to the pub in a Mk1 Mex once to have a chat TYhere's a guy round the corner who has a Mk1 Tina and a BSA Bantam and a gorgeous BSA A10, my neighbour always waves from his Aerial Arrow on Harley, a guy from the localhot rod club I know, a local collector and his granddaughters now got a Mk2 Tina, all the local garages ask about it, I had a guy with driving gloves in a old 50s P5 Rover all wave at me when I go out, and it gets so much attention wherever I park. I've not seen him for some time, but there's a local guy I've passed on a few occasions with an early Model T, he did drive it any weather, but he waves and honks the horn before I get a chance! I keep meaning to follow him back and chat, its in remarkable condition and he stores it along with a load of WW2 motors, a Morris command car, a Willys Jeep and a GMC Deuce and Half.

There was one in an issue of Ford Heritage years ago with front and rear, I thought it looked poo tbh, but the Ducktail looks nice on that big winged racer.

I know what you mean mate.
