Id leave it in untill its registered, running or not. When the man turns up with his beard and clipboard, he'll want to see a complete car with an engine in place. Cant beat matching numbers. Dont think you need an MOT to get it registered.

No idea about the engine conversion but love the colour. What country is it from? Is it uk registered yet? If not, id leave the 1100 in there untill it is. Rich

Keep it. Ive got one on my car and its great for road use. I know there are a couple of ratios, cant remember what mine is but its the milder one out of the 2 (i looked at). Apparently the high ratio can be a bit twitchy on the road? Just my 2 penneth.
