  1. Welcome along Bob. Good to see another Scottish Escort on here.
  2. Ha, Yes, that's the place. To be honest I don't see them a lot neither, but they are around. There is a wee local classic car display at the highland games and a few of them turn up for that. I know of three Mustangs... 2 early convertibles and one fastback. There is one American guy that stayed, he's got a wee collection of american police cars, and there is a early Corvette. Craig, Do you follow the Scottish Retros page on FB? A good bunch of guys that like to do run-outs with nice classic cars. PS, I'm Craig too. lol.
  3. Hi and welcome. I'm just a wee bit north and a ferry from you. There are a few Mustangs around me, the Americans lived in the town a while back, when they left, the cars were left behind. That looks a lovey car you've got your self, I've always fancied one.
  4. No, sorry. I just found it like that.
  5. You found it then... Welcome along to OSF
  6. Got this from a rallying group I follow.
  7. I'm liking the sound of this... Be good to hear how it goes.
  8. Welcome along to OSF
  9. Welcome back. Nice Escort. Like your self, I've a Cossie tucked away!
  10. Agreed, and well said. It's for posts like this that I recommended a 'Agree' icon for. 👍
  11. That is so true ?
  12. Welcome to OSF
  13. Yes I agree, you should't need to. But often when you need to replace parts of the cooling system, you dislodge bits of crap, and they keep finding their way back to the thermostat. So a few trips out without the Stat, a flush, a run, and then new fluid, new Stat. You'll soon know, if it runs good without the Stat, then it's just crap jamming it!
  14. I'm over in Greenock, and sorry, I don't actually have the car just now. The shell is away having a new roof skin put on.
  15. Oh, even better drive up the way! haha. Yes I've a few friends in OZ and they're happy to keep me up to date with how hot it is. lol Have you tried running the car without the thermostat? That's what I'd try in the heat you getting! We usually ran the rally cars without in the summer, back in the day. It was the year of my life, loved it and never seen or had a bit of bother.
  16. Sometimes, but not always. When the the DVLA say no details held, but there is no mention of it been crushed or written, the 2 doors made their way over to southern Ireland to be turned into a rally car!
  17. Welcome to OSF, I'm love your Mustang, always fancied one.
  18. That's a nice wee drive for you. ? I've done it while backpacking OZ 20 years ago
  19. Yeah I'm seeing that now! To think I had 8 and gave them away with the car... Hindsight would be great eh! They were readily available back then, but possibly folk were put off buying them, I think they cost me a small fortune at the time.
  20. It was 33-34 years ago, so I can't remember where I ended up buying them, I used a few mail order Race & Rally suppliers back in the day... But I seem to remember that most of them had them for sale. Demon Tweeks Springs to mind, but I'm really not sure.
  21. That was my Escort back in 1987 with Pirelli 14 inch 4 spokes on. I bought 8 of them new. I believe all got stolen from the lad I sold the car too, not long after I sold it.
  22. Welcome to OSF, That looks a nice RS. Good to see a fellow RS2 on here, and not too far from me.
  23. I would also be interested in these if there is a batch made. I think it is something that would suit 3D printing, but I'm no expert.
  24. GS Escorts had one recently.
