Useful information so far guys. I reckon I'll stick with an everyday style pad which would suit the way I drive the car. Thanks all!
-
Ok guys, just want an idea of what you fellas use on your motors. I've just picked up a new set of solid drilled and grooved discs that a local rally driver ordered by mistake. Im running M16 calipers so was wondering what the best combination of disc and pad is? I don't do track days and wouldn't say I'm a 'fast' road driver.

How do you mainly browse the OSF Forum poll

Android mobile and banner is static. -
When on full right hand down lock, the wheel rubs very slightly on the drivers wheel arch. No issues on passenger side. Other than that the position is fine. Previous owner has fitted an anti dive bar with double width brackets and rubbers. Yes real axle is back a bit but, that photo isn't square on. This has only happened since fitting the lowering blocks. How do I pull it forward a bit again?

So as with most of us I've been doing winter improvements. Some forced, some voluntary. Car is looking closer to how I want. Think I need a twin cam style anti tramp bar on the front to pull my wheels forward a little. (Anyone got 1 for sale?) Other than that I'm getting an engine tune then should be ready for run outs!

Wanted lowering bl9cks and bilstein springs
Gareth_C_79 replied to Gareth_C_79's topic in OLD SKOOL FORD PARTS WANTED
Cancel. Bought -1.5" lowering blocks for the back and -2" 145lb springs for the front. Just waiting to refit my diff and half shafts now to get the car back on the ground and see what it looks like. -
I had a set of corbeaux buckets when I got the car. They had runners which I was able to fit to the feet on the rs turbo seats. The runners were then bolted to the floor in the car. Had to drill out new holes though. They do sit quite close to the door though. I'll get pics tomorrow but car is currently on axle stands as half shafts and diff is out getting a rebuild (long story)

Good morning all. I'm considering lowering my car and checking first to see if anyone has any old stock laying around before buying something new. Im running a mk1 Mexico replica with the bubble arches and capri 2.8 bilstein struts on the front. Currently I have about 6" between my front wheel and bottom of arch so need to get this looked at. Ideally I'd like a 2" lowering kit on the rear (or a 1" kit with the poly blocks) and a 3" drop on the front. Let me know if you have anything to help me out.

Looks wise I don't think there is a lot of difference. Price is starting to creep up so get in quick if you want them. A quick ebay search revealed a few pairs. Some standard, some upholstered. Im running escort rs turbo seats in my mk1 and can't say enough good things about them. Other than maybe sitting a little high but that could be due to my slide runners

I was thinking you might have rolled the arches! Freshened up well there.

Saying its been in the family since new keeping it standard is a must. Matching numbers car and all that! A bit of TLC, a few shiny bits here and there and you will have a stunning motor with loads of family memories. Welcome to the club!
-
Yeah you can use the 1.8 zetec flywheel and a used clutch to keep the price down. Hopefully you can pick up a decent gearbox and bell housing as well. Yes I have a thread on the build in the restoration page on here. Just look up installing a ST170 engine.

How about this? https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/154488226800?hash=item23f83743f0:g:lLQAAOSwsNFgwkoa Your issue then is getting all the bits to make it fit. I'm in the middle of an ST170 install at the minute and I'm running around the 5 grand mark. I've used the retro Ford stage 2 kit which is just over 3 grand. I then bought Dan ST engineering throttle bodies and a ME 221 engine management system which was another £1650. Add in fuel pump, filter, fuel lines, fuel pressure regulator, new radiator fan, coolant hoses and the price soon adds up. You will save a bit using your emerald as long as it can run the VVT. However, once finished I'll have a fuel injected engine, running around 190bhp.

Hi guys, just won a set of rs recaro seats on ebay and the seller is in Rochester, ME2 area. Im Currently getting quotes for some courier companies but will be Monday or Tuesday before this gets sorted. If the seller refuses to accept a courier collection im wondering if there would be anyone on here who could help a brother out? Cheers guys, Gareth.

I will be keeping an eye on this progress Joe as my car is the same. I have no roof lining and no sound deadening either so 1 of the many things on my list of improvements will be sound deadening, new carpet and eventually a roof cloth! Car looking great as always Joe! -
