That car was built by a guy here in SA, on the classic ford forums as marty mexico. He does great work and is a super knowledgeable. He sold it off a while ago and they new owners slapped some stickers and a covid price tag on it.

Ha looks like my outdoor furniture covers! Im tempted to just get a supercheap outdoor cover and throw it over my indoor cover as well

Has anyone else got another make of car that they own that they enjoy?
Nursebetty replied to BIG G's topic in CHIT CHAT
Recently got a Landcruiser, mainly to fit the growing family and allow us some room to get away and do some camping. We grew up in landcruisers so to have one was a little life goal of mine. Although now it does get alot of the modding attention and the escort just gets the odd sunday cruise. -
Ive gone the oem look stereo in my car, connects via bluetooth and i just run it from my phone. I dont want to listen to radio dribble while driving the escort, would rather something that ignites the teenage dreams. BUT if i was to do it again, id just put a oem radio in to keep the car looking period correct and throw a bluetooth speaker on the floor or dash. So much cheaper and easier. I think the unit i got was 800ish aud.

Interested to how this goes, im thinking ill have to move my escort forward in the drive and somewhat more open facing, will be UV exposed and in some cases of really sideway rains possibility of getting wet. Ive got an indoor cover on it now from this place https://www.Retards Club.com/profile.php?id=100048102315390 It fits ok but for the cost 500 im not stoked enough to return. Wasnt untill after i ordered i found out they do not have a 2door trim pattern only a rs2000 which has the nose cone. They also sent me completely wrong car first up (EH holden) but did fix up that mistake and cover costs involved with it. Ideally id love something really fitted, UV protected but not sure where to go to get it. Id even be interested in a group buy if it can help us both out

HELP! Diff noise / LSD for normal road use?
Nursebetty replied to BaileyMex's topic in OLD SKOOL FORD CHAT
I have a 3J plated LSD in my road going mk2 and it doesnt chatter much at all now ive put a few kms on it, When it first was installed sounded like a bag of bolts but now nothing. I dont think youll go wrong with either type. Im no mechanic but i did have a noise like you describe and new wheel bearings fixed that but 'noises' are so hard to identify over the net, hopefully is a simple fix. -
It came from the land down under!

Random thought regarding keeping Receipts for car history
Nursebetty replied to BaileyMex's topic in OLD SKOOL FORD CHAT
I just print my stuff at work and chuck it in a folder. In all honesty im sure when a buyer is looking at a enthusiast car theyll notice where you have spend quality money. -
rs2000 mk2 gearbox 4 speed wanted
Nursebetty replied to kevs mk2 rs2000's topic in OLD SKOOL FORD PARTS WANTED
That extension housing is very nicely done. Moving the hole is one reason i havent put a 5 speed in. -
I dont know how easy they are to come across over there but search Recaro LS/LX range of seats. I have a set in my mk2, i offset them slightly on a set of custom made brackets to just clear the door (although its like 10mm) Great seats

Someone needs to 3d scan these so they can be 3d printed reproductions

purchased by motorad im told, who knows. But yes its annoying.

Seller refunded the cap, So im told Stant has been sold and the new owner is phasing out their branding, they could not tell me if the new caps are made in the same place or to the same standard. photo of the rad and cap installed.
-
Thanks so much for the offer. this is the sticker peeled off the natrad cap which i think actually looks nicer then i thought it would. Ive contacted the ebay seller requesting a refund so will see how that pans out, just a bit annoyed all that time and effort to get what i wanted was wasted really.
-
Thanks again for the advice, im going to let this issue settle till the radiator is in. I peeled the sticker off my natrad one and its actually pretty nice and feels well made. Well better then my old one and just as nice as the stant cap i had. In that time hopefully the ebay seller comes back with some info, ie im hoping they have these caps made by stant etc
-
Thanks for the suggestion, ill see what burtons and the ebay supplier say and go from there. I feel somewhat justified in my frustration in knowing someone else has gone through this! I really liked the look of my non lever stant cap but its just the wrong size, heartbreaking
-
Well the ball keeps rolling on this for me, My ?stant cap arrived today. Packaged as allstar performance with no stant markings other then on the label. This is what the ebay ad shows. Im a bit disappointed as i want to use a stant cap for the quality. Im finding it strange i can not find a standard radiator stant replacement cap, or even part numbers so i can chase up the correct one. Too much time and worry for such a small issue but i feel i have to solve it, ive emailed burtons to see if this works with a grp4 radiator. GRP4 themselves said they use a stant 30130 cap but that is rated 18-22psi. Not sure how that would work on my standard pinto. https://www.burtonpower.com/stant-radiator-cap-16-psi-with-release-lever-11330-stant.html
-
Yeah i understand you, im actually spewing the stant cap i have doesnt fit the new radiator but oh well, new one i ordered has the lever, which looks a bit racey! I dont understand, all that time and effort to make a fake radiator cap, who would have thought there would be profit in it.
-
Wow after reading this i feel someone feels my pain after chasing a Stant cap for my new GRP4 radiator here in aus. I ended up emailing a place on ebay that listed the one i want which assured me they do have the item but then gave a postage time frame of 2 weeks to get it from their storage facility. I felt a little 'crazy' looking at caps for hours trying to find part dimensions and specs to make sure i get what i needed.
