Late Zetec engines were "dressed" like they are Duratec engines. Just check if it has a belt or a chain.

Compare the height of both caps and the "filling holes" in the radiators.

Test if there isn't a (small) hole in the radiator or coolant system by pressurizing the system. It should keep the pressure you put on it. Also test if the head gasket isn't leaking (a bit). I have a CO2 tester, it tests the coolant for traces of CO2 which happens if the head gasket leaks a bit.

These are fibreglass arches, Ford items used on the very first cars (like Roger Clark's red Cossack car).

On a Pinto you could do a beltswap in 15 minutes with your eyes closed. On an Audi, well at least some Audi's, I believe the complete front end has to come of.

Contacted the local importer regarding the AP clutch kit. He says he contacted AP and they don't make them any more (we knew that) and they couldn't find any at a dealer or importer in the old stock.

Bedding in? Were those comments about a HD road unit or a 184mm rally/race clutch? The Helix HD road pressure plate is listed for 245 Nm, quite similar to the AP one.

Sod AP ... just get a Helix HD kit from Burton or one with a paddle plate (sprung centre) if you got a lot of bhp / torques.

In the old AP catalogue it is stated that you must now mix those AP Formula / HD parts with std items. Also the difference between the CP5351-1 and the CP5352-5 is that the 51-1 is steel-backed and the 52-5 is not. The 51-1 islisted as for the Pinto engine, the 52-5 for the RS1800. Torque capacity is the same for both.

Both! Top one is Burton they have no stock left, bottom ones is Motorsport Tools think they still have some stock left.

That atomic shop is in Germany (at the Nurburgring); never heard of them. You could email them asking if they can order it and if yes how long delivery is. But I doubt they really can get it. Burton's webshop is always very up to date and if they say it is nla then it probably is.

According to an insider over here AP has concentrated on race/rally clutches since the market for clutches for road cars has been swamped by Chinese crap via the interweb. Even single cluch plates and/or pressure plates for road cars are nla. Helix is good as is Tilton.
