  1. Cheers for the replies guys,Ike certainly sounds like an interesting character.
  2. I've seen their name mentioned twice in Retro Ford lately as they have just started making steel cranks for the x-flow. Just wondering if anybody knows them or has bought off them as I've never heard of them before and their website doesn't say anything about how long they've been going or anything about the quality of the steel cranks?
  3. Anybody got a Hi-ab ?????
  4. "But he never hurt nobody." I just had me a little sing-a-long to that, cheers for putting it up. Freaking awesome band and one I really regret never seeing live.
  5. I was looking at them at the Stoneleigh Show last weekend and they don't have much dish on them at all, very disappointing. I thought the originals were more dished as well with their spokes angled outwards rather than being flat like the copies.
  6. Where I work now I'm called Grumpy.......so that's a big improvement.
  7. At the last place I worked I was called Dr Death. Not entirely sure why but it might have been something to do with my pleasent misdemeanor first thing in the morning.

  12. Stick a 'kin huge whiplash aerial on the roof and it would look just like a radio controlled car, brilliant, love it,well done.
  13. Yes,you're right,I misread it. So from 2010 I will no longer be able to deliver goods into London unless I pay £100 per day, yeah, right,I can see that happening. Heathrow's included which is a real bastard as I sometimes have to go there to pick up goods that are too heavy for a car. I can see a lot of companies moving to outside the M25 but I expect that won't bother Ken.
  14. My works van is a 1996 Ford Tranny and for a minute there I thought I would no longer be able to run into London but I entered my reg number and my vans not affected until 2010. It's a real bitch for everybody. It even includes buses & coaches, roadsweepers, refuse trucks, gritters, ambulances, hearses, horse boxes, campers and more.Think of the expense to both individuals and tax payers to replace that lot?
  15. Brilliant news Mike, well done. With that sort fo power you should be able to beat the vans previous best time of 14.7secs no sweat.I'll buy you a pint if you do. How does it feel to drive now, really smooth and torquey or what?
  16. If the Elephant Man drove a car it would be that one.
  17. I've used a pipe wrench (Stilsons) in the past which worked ok.
  18. In my crossflow I had a Holbay R120 cam because that's the one they fitted to the Escorts that won the London to Mexico Rally.
  19. How tight did you do the big nut ? It should be done up to 27lbs and then backed off by a 3rd of a turn, according to Haynes that is,I just do mine by feel.
  20. I always used to help my neighbours with mechanicals and bodywork but soon learnt they still bloody moan and complain so now I just tell them I don't know what I'm doing, which is half true

Yeah!,but you can't deny that Mrs Blobby was a bit of a looker.
  22. Straight away it was clockwise but then I concentrated on her out-stretched leg and could then see her going anti-clockwise but what I really wanted to see was her jumping up and down.
  23. I own a HA Viva saloon but had to give it to a mate when I bought my Anglia saloon as i didn't have any room for it.
  24. A couple of years ago I had to drive upto Birmingham airport and pick up some goods then drive down to Swanley in Kent and deliver a pallet of goods then pop over to Heathrow to collect even more goods then drive up to Pudsey in Leeds to deliver the lot and then back home to Halesowen in the West Midlands.Phew!!! Just as I turned onto my drive there was an almighty loud bang and the drivers side front of the Transit dropped to the floor as the bottom ball joint had sheared.I had to abandon it where it was, half on my drive, arse end in the road until I could get it repaired the following morning, talk about lucky.
