OSF WIRRAL MEET SAME PLACE SAME TIME 25.03/07
Delotus replied to xpackken's topic in SHOWS, EVENTS & MEETS
I'm in!! I hope there's another good turnout like the last time. Tim -
I'm gutted for you that she is representing your city I watch bb when i'm home cus my girl and stepson are mad fans of the show. They are just girls bitchin, the scouse girl is an embarasment to me,shes far too jealous of Shilpa who i would say is a far better lookin girl anyway. And so far she has been very dignified to the bullies who've been making it hard for her in there. I have a lot of nieces in my family and they can bitch for England,it's not a scouse thing it's a women thing. My own girlfriend does it,and it gets right on my tits..haha...No offence ladies of the forum. But why haven't none of the men said nothing in there,so the bully girls don't vote them off. If that face wants to win shilpa over he better start sticking up for her.. It's a gameshow at the end of the day.. Tim

Sure is Mand but it made me learn very early on in life not to over do it on the ale. Plus i had a good Mother too who taught me of it's dangers. Tim

I like a nice rs droop snoot, suits the cars rearly well. Never owned one,but many passed me by over the years. Bet they make a difference at high speed too ,so a big bonus in my eyes. Tim
-
Believe me when i say this,:there was a time when i'd jump for joy and start bashin the bishop! sorry (did i rearly say that?) and want to get over there and get my hands on it.No not of the corsair but of the orange bug with the blue bonnet in the 3rd pic.Owned and restored a lot of them . I tell you why i mention the above. When i used to go and see my now missus when she lived in Bolton .I always used to call in to a massive scrap yard some where there ,as they had a good few beetles and i was always scrounging for parts for mine .There was a mint as new metalic blue? 2000e corsiar alway parked outside and i never batted an eyelid at it only noticing that it was mint. Now a very highly prized car i would imagine and surely worth a lot more than a mint similally aged beetle. The same scrap yard also had an escort camper van and mk1 transits and capris and probbably a lot more than what i can remember. Sadly all was when i was away from ford cars. And a long time have passed since. But now i have come back round to the real world and i would love that "Special" Corsiar Estate. I love it,looks pritty good too,at the end of the day if all the conversion panels are good then that is surley an added bonus. Get it bought and get it soughted, there can not be many of them left for obvious reasons, just don't tell the seller. ,unless hes clued up on the thing. I always say when your trying to do a deal don't look too interested, talk about other cars he's got and he'll take the bait, hopefully. Super cool parts hauler. Tim

That looks sweet Davey Boy. Both before and after . Nice the mk5. Had a few myself.2'0 Ghia. And a couple of 16 gl's. Brother had a 1.6 LS with lowered uprated suspension,2.0 head, webber and a four branch manifold as standard from the factory .It went rearly well too, 90 brake. Tim

At last i've finally fitted the engine. What a journey.
Delotus replied to Delotus's topic in OLD SKOOL FORD CHAT
It was all looking so professional until I saw the connector block and flex : I aggree no end.It is awfull I'll be ,or should i say my mate Keith will be sorting all the wiring out for me and make good all the odd connections etc next year when i fit the Lotus Dashboard i have . That 3 way connector incidently is an original added extra what the previous owner fitted haha. It just had to go back on for now as it's powering my headlight and i was having that much fun i thought i'd better get them working in case i stayed out all night .hehe Glad you all like it . If you get bogged down with your projects, keep at it,don't get fed up because, take it from me it's a journey worth taking,no amount of money spent or time can replace the wide grin on yer face when your blasting up the street. Best regards Tim -

Thanks Guys. I got my new longer Lotus speedo cable today, duely fitted it and lowered it onto it's wheels. Started it up and took it round the block. In fact i couldn't resist staying out for a coupe of hours .I loved it! First time under it's own power in 3 months, and it was worth the wait.I't ran like a dream. It's very drivable and very very lively.Superb throught the gears. Need to wire up the rev counter as i do'nt want to over do it,best be carefull. What made my day is some old geezer pulled up and tonked his horn and said: Do you know the great train Robbers used one of them to getaway with all the loot! I said im gonna have to do something similar to pay for it mate !!. Only jokin. Loads of people just staired at it as we went along. The noise from them 40's is something else, the exhaust i made sounds awsome. Here's a picture of the throttle set up i made and the cables running through the bulk head. The lower left blue cabe was were the bonnet cable once came through so i think it looks ok now and works a treat. Does any one know what the above linkage set up is? As i need another return spring to balance it out as it's only got one. As Tim (Escort 21 )has done i might add an extra brace to the pedal set up next time i take it off.Good idea Tim. My mate Lol made up a new choke cable with all the bits which where left over from the throttle cables. His paitience is as good as anybodys. He cut off the old inside bit and drilled it out with a dremil. Then slotted the new inside bit and soldered it all on.Cut the outside parts to suit and fitted it all together.Perfect! Here's the battery tray with the cut off switch mounted on an L braket . .I started with a bog standard Nissan Micra battery tray . I Cut all the bottom off it as it had all swage lines what wasn't suitable for the cortina .Welded in a thick flat section and made these brackets up. Welded in a washer either side to stregnthen it a bit better. Drilled big holes in the pan to allow access to the bolts. Primered and hammerited Again My mate Kieth soldered a new battery connection on the end and now looks a treat.NO pics of it finished.Damm. I cut a thin piece of rubber for the base of the tray for the battery to sit on.Lookin goood. I need to tidy the wiring harness both sides and that's about it for now. Next year i am looking to tidy the bodywork up a bit ,the two rear arches want doing and its had a over sill on the passenger side whats a bit ropie but other than that i am happy with it for now. I would love a set of retro buckets like Anthonys in Austrailia and a proper gt/lotus rear seat and door cards as this would be great for the interia as i have a genuine lotus dashboard to fit to it whan it's all done. The price of the prper Lotus steering whee is a bit off putting though. Knowing me it will all get a full strip down and i'll end up doing the lot!.But thats the bit i love. It's had top plates fitted and i can see me ripping these off to do them proppely as well. Thanks all ,Tim -
My home built chopped up mondeo exhuast sounds pritty cool with only a back box on. Nice Barp!! 2 1/2 inch pipe i think onto a mk1 mexico 4 branch Tim

Hey nice one Tim!! So i am not the only one eh? hehe I like your idea of the extra brace there on the pedal extension. Well done mate... Tim
