  1. The essex 4 speed box is called a type 5.
  2. sweet looking car, I really like it....such a cool colour
  3. Yep , a great day! Well done Kev Good to see so many nice Capris and chat to so many knowlegdable owners . Surprising that out of 72 Capris there wasn`t one mk2 Hopefully I`ll put that right next time
  4. I did my own, I am not sure how it compares the the ones you can get done but it looks close enough to the original for me. Mind you, I work at an engraving company and so it cost me nothing but if we had to do it as a job it would be around £40 I reckon. Pic now removed.
  5. I`m guessing this must be in the wrong forum
  6. Anyone know?????
  7. Would Escort mk2 rear shocks fit a lowered capri mk2? They look similar in pictures? whats the difference? Cheers Danny
  8. How are you gettingon with the brake conversion? I`m looking forward to hearing how much better they are than the standard fitment.
  9. Here is one for you, only £25 http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ZAKSPEED-CAPRI-MINT-inbox-1-43-scale-quartzo_W0QQitemZ270070972847QQihZ017QQcategoryZ56316QQtcZphotoQQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem#ebayphotohosting
  10. Those 1.6 axles are every bit as tough as the ones from larger models, infact I think the shafts are thicker than the 2 litre and are the same thickness as the 2.8i. Seems to be a bit of a fashion for putting in those MkII grills ATM
  11. IIRC The Zakspeed turbo capri used a turbo on a production kent crossflow block to get 500bhp (perhaps it was more?) in the 1700cc and also silly power out of the 1400 too. The head was a specially made twin cam job I think.
  12. Okay, Cheers for the reply
  13. Hi Guys, That orange Capri S pictured in the "Great Shakes" feature, do you know any more about it? I scoured the text but couldn`t see any reference to it. Did it go up the strip? Looks a really nice original car, just my cup of tea... Oh! and thanks for the feature on the MkII 3.0s, hopefully it won`t boost their popularity too much though as I am having enough trouble trying to find one as it is. BTW that Cadiz fabric on the seats of the mark two was available in blue and green as well as orange Cheers Danny
  14. I worked as a contractor (painting & decorating) in Fords at Aveley and also in the seperate AVO building. Unfortunately it was in the late 80`s early nineties and the escort days were long gone, but there was still some RS200 spares kicking about. The cars had been there too as they were struggling to shift them at the time.
