We're going to shake the car down ready for the season (hopefully). Anyone else going?
-
After five years of running 4x4 Sierras I bought a Nissan GT. Stuck it through a hedge on the way home from buying it and totalled it. "Nah, It's OK. It'll drift round this corner nicely!" Serves me right for not buying Ford. I am the driving God!

I always wave at BMW drivers, but usually with a loosely clenched hand!
-
That was the OLD OLD engine - only ran 10.03 with that combo. More pics on the website - www.kissmyrs.co.uk.

We run a spool (locked diff). Ran a spool on the old Anglia as well, and one of our 'stock' RS2's. Despite what everyone said, the cars have always remained very driveable and well mannered, and we never suffered from the dreaded understeer that the doom-mongers said would happen (even with 18.5" of rubber on each of the back corners). Other great thing about spools is they are about a quarter of the price of any type of LSD. You know it makes sense!!

We've had high 9 second quarters at 140mph+ on our old engine (and road legal!). New engine should be pushing 1,000 bhp (when we get it dialled in) plus a 350 shot of nitrous. Not bad for a 'stock' Mk 2 RS2000
-
Seriously though - I think the car looks great as it is. I wouldn't change those Minilites (Superlites?) just for the sake of it.
-
Nah, buy two of each. Put matching ones on either side (RS alloys on drivers side, Revolutions on passengers side) and VOILA - the car for all seasons!!!

What weels ae these ? MK1RS ? MK2 RS ? Capri ?

na mate i think its the day!!! What? the 79th of November? -
Either hammer a few nails in and bend them over, or use the things that girlies use to keep their toes apart when they're painting their nails.

It depends on the insurance company, your age, your driving history, and the other modifications to the car. If you've got nitrous but nothing else you will be stung, but nitrous on a highly modified car will only add a few %. Best thing to do is ring around a few of the specialist companies and ask the question. It doesn't make any difference to my car either way on the insurance. They do insist that I don't use the N2O on the road though!

How many other friuts can you name? Okay,,,,okay....I'm bored!

OSF pitch would be good - I don't want to leave 'the monster' in the car park - I'd have plebs posting stones through the injection! -

Could you let me have details (both the venue and the sheep!!) Thanks! -
I wonder if it's still around. Can't remember the number plate, but the chassis was 'BFATNR00032' Was black with a black interior. Is it still out there?

It sounds like a laugh. I could bring the Escy along, and poss get my daughter to bring her Mustang. Any good? -
Yes, but that will only tell you if the alternator is charging without load. Quite often one of the diode packs will go down (they usually have three) which won't show up on thiis test. Try turning the headlamps on to full, the fan on, the wipers on, the radio on and anything else you may have. Let the battery voltage drop for a while and then rev the engine up to 3K or more. If the alternator is OK then the battery voltage should stabilise and then start to creep up, of the alternator's f*cked (or the output is too low for the demand) then it will continue to drop.
-
Sounds like you could use a higher output alternator. A bigger battery won't make a lot of difference when the car's running, it's the alternator that is trying to power all of the accessories as well as trying to charge the battery. Not sure what output a P100 Alternator would have, but it must be worth stepping up to an 85amp jobbie.

'Isleworth Polishing & Plating' in Isleworth (predictably!) used to be very good, but I'm not sure if they still exist. Might be worth doing a bit of a search.

On the whole I agree. I had loads of fun with my 'old' Escorts - RS's and Mexico's, but I've also had loads of fun with 4x4 Sierra's, and my wife's new Fiesta ST is an absolute hooligan (and probably quicker than any of the RS's). I think the difference between the 'Old Skool' and the 'New Skool' is the fact that I know I can drive the Fiesta between services without lifting the bonnet (was the same with the 4x4's as well). When I was a mere youth I used to love tinkering with my 'every day' car, but now I'm an old fart I'd rather spend the time in the garage with my 'toy' than working on my real transport. Lets face it though, as long as it's got a blue oval it must be OK

A&E Coachworks at Ash. Been doing my work (both company and private) for yonks. Bearing in mind we deal in Mustangs, Cobra's and the like I don't think you'll find much better. Top quality work at very reasonable prices. Can't recommend them highly enough. 07941 961828 gets you straight through to the boss.

So true. I tried to get some help with my mortgage payments after I was made redundant over xmas. I'm back at work now but never received a penny from the social due to lost paperwork etc. While I was waiting for my interview there were a couple of lads next to me having their forms filled in by an interpreter. It's the same whoever you talk to. The tax-paying native of these fair isles of hours is (unfortunately) the 'soft touch'....Far easier to tax/fine/find someone who is on the right side of the law, than those who are rooking the system blind. And if you should EVER have the audacity to ask for some of your money back when things get tight - F*CK YOU!!!!! - the government have given it all to poor blind Bosnian Gypsies who came over in a container lorry and are living at the Hilton until the council finds them a furnished 4-bed detatched!
-
That didn't take long did it. Less than a week since the start of this train and we've all lost interest already. I guess what a few of you said is true - nothing will ever happen because we can't be f*cking bothered to get off our arses and do something about it. Well sod that. If this country tries to get anything more out of me I'm going to emigrate. I've had enough of being taxed to death with everything I do. If I earn money - they tax me. If I save money - they tax me. If I spend money - they tax me. If I drive - they tax me in so many ways. I've even been charged duty to import stuff, and then had VAT applied to that. So that's a tax on a tax! I'm also fed-up with seeing those who don't want to work having a better standard of living than me. I've been earning and paid taxes for over 30 years. I had a motoring accident a few years ago which meant I couldn't work for a while, and what did I get from the government? F*CK ALL! I'm from the wrong minority though - I was born in England and I work for a living. Rant over. I'm going to lay down in a dark room.
