This DEFINITELY works. Steradent (or the supermarket equivalents) are excellent for cleaning all sorts of stained products. Worth giving them a whirl before stinking out the dishwasher!

I still say the true definition of a muscle car is a factory produced vehicle. Shelby's are muscle cars as Shelby was (at that time) a company entirely funded by Ford. It was essentially just a sattelite production line. I don't think (by definition) a muscle car can be a car retro fitted with a huge engine by an outside company or individual. My RS has muscle, but I don't consider it a muscle car for that very reason. And I'm not trying to school anyone. I thought this train was just a frank exchange of views on what actually constitutes a 'real' muscle car. Just my personal opinion, from someone who also loves, lives, breathes and works with American motors.

Mate, I don't think you're preaching to the converted. But I appreciate your mention of cammers, and think back with a tear in my eye to the time I turned down one for just over a grand. I know where there's a Falcon Sprint tucked away with all original fibreglass panelling - not the same kind of thing as the Thunderbolt, more of a touring car, but I'd bet it's up your street. Muscle cars by definition require 'a bit of muscle' under the bonnet. There is NO WAY a 1300 Capri is a muscle car, but a 3.0 Capri is. I've driven a 60's 6-pot Mustang and it's HORRIBLE, but the same year's 6.6 litre V8 is a truly awesome beast. And Mk3 Cortina? what was the biggest engine fitted to them? 2.3? Ever seen one smoke the tyres for 400 yards? No, nor has anyone else.

I kind-of agree with this, but (again) by definition the muscle-car was a factory built souped up model, so whilst a Capri 3.0 or 3.1 would be, a Savage Cortina wouldn't as the conversion was carried out by an outside company. Oh, and TVR's ar poo that only feel fast 'cos they're so f*ck*ng dangerous!

Yet the only car they showed on TV this morning was a Mondeo. Does that count? I wrote a report to my boss on the 7th February deatiling the effects of this supermarket sh*t, so it's not exactly a 'new' problem. I got my info from a friend at the RAC who told me that they had been receiving "An abnormally huge amount of fuel related problems with cars" since the beginning of the year, and most related to supermarket fuels. You need to know anything? - ask 60ft man!!!

Stick with an Eaton type supercharger (as fitted to the Mini Cooper and SLK), this is a slim-line twin-rotor (essentially a Rootes type) supercharger which will fit nicely into the 'V' of your Cologne, and can be seriously over-driven to make power. 4-71, 6-71, 8-71 etc are too tall to fit under your bonnet. Centrifugal superchargers (like the ortech or Paxton) are easy enough to fit, but a kit will run out at about £3K unless you can find a second-hand one. 'Blown' simply refers to an engine that is supercharged - Blower = slang term for a supercharger. Good luck

Mine's got about 2 1/2" ground clearance. It's not bad, but the exhausts tend to 'rub' on lumps in the road. I have to play dodgems with raised man-hole covers!

Isn't that an original Ford spoiler as was available for RS2's & Mex's. Seriously though, I wouldn't paint it. Repair the areas that need it and then enjoy. I think it looks the Mutts!!!

I was trying to get hold of an Alpine (to make a Tiger out of) which had sat in the guy's garage for fifteen years. He'd started to 'restore' it, though it was largely f*ck*ed with most of the sills and door pillars missing (so bad they wouldn't support the doors). I made him a sensible offer, which he accepted straight away, but said I couldn't take the car immediately as he "had to get all of the parts together". I rang him every couple of days for about three months. He was: Out. Out of the country In Hospital On Holiday Just popped out but would be back in a minute. etc etc. On the odd occasion during this time that I did speak to him we had to 'renegotiate' as he'd found 'lots of new parts' and therefore thought the car was worth far more. It's the only deal where I've actually haggled up!! At about the 4 month mark I actually managed to speak to him straight away. "It's gone mate - I scrapped it" What really pi**ed me off was the time I wasted, and the fact that I knew he'd taken more money for it. Why not be honest and say? W*NK*R!!!!

Used to drive an A series recovery truck back in the 80's.

Thinners content is more to do with temperature than length of drying. If it's hot, the solvents will evaporate far quicker, so you need more of them to maintain a fluid paint job (oterwise the first pass will have dried before you go over with the second pass, thereby leaving 'dry' edges). When it's cold the solvent's don't evaporate as quick, so you need less of them to achieve the same end. It's all a question of trial and error. Mix 50/50, spray a panel. If it looks like a pebbledashed wall then you need more thinners. If it's just fallen off the panel into a puddle on the floor then you need less. Easy!
