  1. Thanks
  2. To the scrappies for a tow bar for the Mondeo
  3. Is your Escort biscuit colour?
  4. no, you need not
  5. What happened was that he was towing a trailer and a SAAB was overtaking, and Baz pulled out into his lane. The rear corner of the trailer trailer hit his bumper, and when he braked it pulled his front bumper off. No damage to my car or the trailer.
  6. Exactly the scenario, his insurance policy entitles him to drive my car under his own policy, his insurance paid out for the damage, nothing to do with my insurance company. Told my new insurers and it made no difference to them at all. Insurance starts when the Admiral policy finishes. I think I will get the evidence of his insurance policy, send it to Admiral, and then tell them they can stick their insurance anyway, it's their loss, not mine.
  7. It is surely up to the Company to discipline the staff not doing the job correctly, or at least put them on poor performance with a view to dismissal. I would agree, don't sign anything. Are you in a Trade Union of any kind?
  8. My area isnt covered, but Baz105e's is. They seem to have made a bit of an effort by blocking out the number plates, although OSF70 on the back window is a bit of a giveaway!! lmao...
  9. Can someone explain something to me? I lent a car of mine to one of my sons (Baz105e) and he was using it under his own fully comp insurance policy which he has on a car of his. While using it he was in collision with another vehicle, and after a bit of time and letter writing his insurance admitted liability and paid out for the repairs to the other vehicle. My insurance Company wrote to me early on, and I reported to them that I was not driving, told them who was, and that any claim would be made under his policy, not my own. So far so good. My insurance Company wrote to me a while ago, and I spoke to them towards the end of last week, saying that they wanted to know his insurance details, policy number vehicle registration number etc etc, as it would be an offence for me to let him use my vehicle without valid insurance. I have written to them telling them that he was insured, and spoke to them last week, and advised them that I would obtain the details of his current policy, and his Insurance Company name. My insurance Company have written to me today saying that (and I quote) "Unfortunately our underwriting criteria has changed this year and I am unable to renew your insurance with us. Your cover with Admiral ends on 7/4/09 at 00:01 hours." wtf!! Can anyone explain?
  10. Which Capri is it? Not Sab's?
  11. no Sab, I sometimes get quite attached to inanimate objects, and don't even mention pets dying!!
  12. When I bought a cheap car about 3 years ao, it had an advisory for the same thing, Baz105e cleaned them with (I think) a little scotchbrite, smeared grease round them, and they passed the next 2 MOT's after that, no problems.

  18. These celebs climbed Kilimanjaro in the name of charity, very laudable and all that, but apparently they had a private jet chartered to bring them home at a cost of £50,000 I heard, that was paid by one of them. Wouldn't that money have been better donated to charity, and they return by a cheaper means of transport?
  19. Trev, was sold and wet at Loom's today when we were getting a bumper for the Mondeo
  20. Had that, reinstalling msn didnt help, had to wipe the pc and reinstall XP
  21. At the time I lived in Sussex and to be honest I only heard about it on the news, and it didn't seem such a big deal. When I moved to Notts/Derbys deep in mining country, and I also work with some ex-Yorkshire miners too, I realised that the feeling run deep and there was real hardship for those involved. It was not just a strike. Saw a guy on the tv today who said when asked about strike breakers said 'I wouldn't talk to them, once a scab always a scab'. Strong words indeed.
  22. I'm not convinced that was real myself...
  23. should you really have used that term? glad you're on the road to recovery...
