as for the axle i recently sold a narrow eng with disc con and no springs and got £255 on ebay and in your case id sell the lsd seperate and its got 2 be worth £300 springs are at least £50 as for door skins ebay them and you will get serious dosh ,as to how much at a guess id say £150 each i have seen but just a gamble on who bids! good luck mate mike

in my early capri days a mate gave me some 190 lb 2.8 springs ,so off to my mates i went some time later we finished putting them in,i then went in for some nosh[car still on axle stands],later came out ,it was dark as we let the car down and i set of for home........ i couldnt see a ruddy thing as my capri was a 4speed 2.0 and the suspension was at full travel all the way home! what a prat i felt no one said" ah yes but you need 2 or 3 " lower springs"

black is not an easy colour to paint as it shows everything, much respect to your efforts ,they really have been rewarded . it looks so cool

HEY CHAPS, well heres a topic for a bit of a grey area , a mate of mine has built a superb and very sturdy mk1 escort and has had a problem finding r s wings,so decided to fit fibre glass ones,[nothing new there ]after a lengthy resto he has taken it to be mot'd and the mot tester refused to give a certificate on the car,despite it meeting ALL the mot criteria. why? BECAUSE NO CRASH TESTS WERE EVER DONE ON MK1 ESCORTS WITH FIBREGLASS WINGS! and because no production model was ever produced with them!!!!!!! WELL IS THIS THE WAY OF THIGS TO COME? will we have to S V A our cars if they are fitted with fibre glass panels? whats your thoughts?

well ,yes they did appologise and i ended up giving the chaps a few pointers on what is what with fords! the bugger who i think gave them the false lead i reckon is a guy who has been buggin me for ages and offering to buy one of my motors[which is NOT for sale] last visit he said" everything is for sale just to settle on a price, or pay a price} thinly veiled threat or what? the thing is as i said to the police ,i buy a 37 year old car how do i know the engine in it has not been nicked? i may have stolen engines there bought in good faith, where do you stand? the strange thing is they seemed unaware of the classic ford theft plague that is in the south now but they are going to check up on it. it is pretty scary though and especially when they ask ,can you show receipts for all of this?some of it i got 8 years ago,so i had to say no not really, but i do know i may not find any again, so they searched ,understood and left ,and hopfully they will now maybe keep an eye on my stuff and all of yours too
