well ,yes they did appologise and i ended up giving the chaps a few pointers on what is what with fords!
the bugger who i think gave them the false lead i reckon is a guy who has been buggin me for ages and offering to buy one of my motors[which is NOT for sale] last visit he said" everything is for sale just to settle on a price, or pay a price} thinly veiled threat or what?
the thing is as i said to the police ,i buy a 37 year old car how do i know the engine in it has not been nicked? i may have stolen engines there bought in good faith, where do you stand?
the strange thing is they seemed unaware of the classic ford theft plague that is in the south now but they are going to check up on it.
it is pretty scary though and especially when they ask ,can you show receipts for all of this?some of it i got 8 years ago,so i had to say no not really, but i do know i may not find any again, so they searched ,understood and left ,and hopfully they will now maybe keep an eye on my stuff and all of yours too
