you cant really get bored with the cars .but you can get bored of .no time to make it as good as you want it, not enough money to pay someone to make it as good as you want it . hi guys,like the site and cars ,heres a little idea i came across and made a good cheap motor , i had a nice gt mk1 capri facelift,it was a true rolling resto allways used for work and thrashed soundly through the lanes of cornwall daily,well during one of my return legs from work it developed a nasty[terminal] knock,i got home dived in my then meagre stores to find a replacement my rummage led to this combination of parts: 2litre bottom end a 1600 gt head [valves are 2litre sized] a four branch manifold,2.0gt cam, 1600 clutch and flywheel,an electric fan and i threw it together,and boy did it go!!!!1 downside was fussy timing it was very small margin for adjustment after a while i took off the 1600 webber and put on a 2.3 v6 carb and an improvised ram pipe ,this combination with a 5 speed gearbox returned cruising speed of up to 90mph over a ton top end and a mph of 30 round town high 40's on a m way run and meteoric acceleration, all for pennies and it did well over20.000 miles reliably do any of you have any similar discovries maybe a cheap crossflow formula that worked for you. oh and happy new year ! mike

well im only a [newbie ] but these bumpers look well cool on mk1 capri's but i have made up ones fo a mk1 face lift out of a bashed front fl bumper and the end corner piece of a rear bumper ,welding it at the over rider and leaving an over rider fitted , may sound odd but i was offered good dosh for them and they looked ace and cost pennies!

ok folks, im mike from devizes , ive lived all over the uk ,kent hull scotland cornwall bristol and now here and all the time ive been ford through and through.[ok i have owned other cars but my love has always been fords ,mk1 capri's mainly,so now i have 3 mk1's a 3.0 gxl a 3000E and a gtxlr,,,,,,,,then a sweet mk1 1300sport came to me and a mk1 fiesta xr2 I KNOW ITS FWD BUT its got x pack 1600 on 40's and is part set for rallying , and its mad to drive! then there is a mk1 escort dormobile GEN UP! and 1300 AUTO V ORIGINAL and two mk3 capri's oh and a biege mk5 cortina estate with 22000 miles gen on it. see i was made redundant from my work and been quietly workin my way into restoration and spares for classic fords now im doing just that. i aint made much money but i love what i do and i do have some interesting motors, im hoping not just to work my ass off this year , but to get out to some meets this year with some of my cars,i need to get a few finished first !!
