Deffo big fook off flood lights and the loudest alarms you can find & more than one siren! if you can, try and reinforce the doors with steel work- even if it means bolting steel braces across the openings, that way theres something else int he way before they have the car off. hopefully by then, your out there kicking the living shit outa them!

hi thanks for your reply, i did try removing the top surface with a sanding disc first to make sure it was clean. i think your right about the heat thing- just not sure how to get it hot enough to do the job?- how would i go about heating the whole manifold up and keeping it hot while welding?

ok so im trying something new, ive got some mig wire (aluminium)and some argon gas and im trying to weld an inlet manifold, BUT its not working ive tried all the wire speeds, gas flow rates and power settings but i still get the same result. I get blobs of weld than drop off the manifold and burn me feet. the blobs that dont run off once cooled can be picked off with pliers. basically the wire isnt fusing with the manifold. Ive tried to weld a piece of sheet and it wasnt too bad, i managed to get a bit of a beed going and good penetration. whats going on with the manifold? ive even tried heating it with a blow toruch first but still no good! I need help please!

it was invented to stick people back together (well hold wounds shut anyway) thats why its soo good at sticking you fingers together or you hand to the work bench superglue sets when it come into contact with air- it causes a chemical reaction (well thermal reaction) which sets the glue. to stop it from gluing the lid on you need to clean the lid & nozzle of any glue and stnd it up before fitting the lid. (basically if theres no glue on the nozzle it can glue the lid on).

i chucked a manky inlet manifold into the dishwasher the other day- came out like new! ally looked polished! dishwasher still going strong too

it really does sound like over fueling du to float level and or the needle valve not sealing properly. gotta be a worth a look.

lol i have been! and thats all done by me, no professional has been near it yet. might book her in for a proper tune up though squeeze that little more from it, but first ive got a couple of things to tweek

and made 199.3 BHP well chuffed with that! i was expecting about 160 189.7 torques! woooooooo hoooooooo! next will be getting it round the track!

if its sat for a bit i would remove the top of the carb- carefull of the gasket though, and make sure the needle valve is shutting off properly. could just be a sticky float due to being st about- could also be crap int he float bowl due to standing - wouldnt make it run rich though.

i used to have an 11" one on my rad but it didnt cover the whole rad, it was ok at cooling before the conversion but after it was useless. so i fitted a pair of 9" fans, the way i layed them out the do cover all the cores and cool brilliantly!. i did some research and found that a pair of 9" fans moved nearly twice as much air as a single 11" one.....

sorry no idea, but maybe a search of the manufacturers website might have what you need? just an idea.

not trying to say told you so, but it was said to check the pump first... your carb will need to be played about with again once the pump has been sorted out... glad your getting somewhere with it though!
