Gaz, I think you will find theres only one person that slags of engines, thats you. Yes i call the the old Pinto the ' Pintosaurus ' ... but it is old, and still does sterling work, but round a circuit its getting beat by the more modern engines capable of a bigger spread of power. Yes the Duratec may be expensive at the moment, but compared to a BDA/BDG its cheap, and produces more power. But in correcting your mistakes when talking about the Duratec, I dont slag of the Pinto. Infact, have a search, i always say for power. versus money you cant beat the Pinto based YB turbo. I wonder what would have been happening 50 odd years ago if the internet was around.......................................... cue Toby Come on us old boys & engines must be applauded for the power thats produced from an engine thats not aided by computer,& electronic goodies, just man power.. It's on the pace then and with a 116mph terminal it's got the power to weight ratio to catch the pintos . It's amazing how expensive , light and powerfull the modern engines need to be to catch the 1970's engines with leaf springs and an old pair of DCOES on them . Just think how many people slagg off the pintos yet forget this small matter , no wonder they take it bad when i mention it . Depending on where you have your battery, & how long the leads are ? All you are doing is when you fit a battery isolator switch is, running it in line with the cable, so when the key is out there is no connection, & when the key is in there is !! I hope that makes sence I always think its best in the boot, thats if the battery is in there, although the one shown in the Anglia on this thread is good..!! Jeff Harris..

I got to say, that Ians Harrier, is one of the nicest examples around ! & he made a first class job of fitting the engine in, with the new exhaust system & other goodies that he had bought ! well done mate.. Jeff Harris..

This one is as good as all the others that I have done in the past, except it has a set of roller rockers, which we have used before, & they are the nuts, but not everyone can always afford to go for a set ! It sorts out the rocker geometry just fine Thats all i`m prepared to say at this point, Jeff Harris..
