  1. or just stay at basildon as normally at about 1am all the little cars go home and so do the police, then you can watch all the bigger faster cars playing up till about 4-5am
  2. anyone go to battlesbridge car show yesterday? i bought 2 fair condition headlights for mk3 capri 2 mint rear lights, a mint drivers wing mirror, 2 mint pairs of headlight bezel surround things, and a brand new JVC 50Wx4 CD MP3 player. all for £40 as well as that, there were some lovely motors!
  3. yes, i painted mine outside, tried to do it in thin layers, done it in like 3 coats, and the last coat still wasnt atall flat, i used some halfords rubbing compound, to flatten it which did work and then polished it up with tcut, looks good apart from it went very thin in a couple of spots where you can see primer through it!!! aside from that, about 3 days later a seagull sh*t on it and the marks still there
  4. i sprayed my bonet with a cheapo can of satin black from car crazy, used about a can and a bit (big cans) on top of primer. the nozzles on the top of the halfords bottles are crap, i had a nozzle off a different spray can i found that sprayed in a line rather than a circle patch. does a much nicer job if you can do that

    depends how generous u feel, id say 10-20 quid once i fixed a computer for the chinese shop up my road and they said they would sort me out a drink, they gave me 2 bottles of chinese beer and it was the most disgusting thing ive every attempted to drink!
  6. its not and never will be a capri, i was hoping they would make a new capri, but theyve just wasted it when i say "new capri" i would like to see them exactly the same but just new! how can anyone have the cheek to call it a capri when its fwd, rwd is what made half of the people love it
  7. yes mate im with elephant and they do it, and previously admiral, they did it aswell. you do have to phone them up and tell them you dont want to renew it before they take it out, or change payment method, lol i had my uncle pay mine last year and i gave him the money and they were going to automatically renew it and take it from his bank i was like NOOOooo!
  8. either faulty regulator, i think this is a little box thing bolted to the back of the alternator, or you have a dodgy connection to the battery, could be live or earth. if the alternator cannot send the charge back to the battery it will keep getting higher until it has somewhere to go. atleast thats what happend to me when my live terminal fell off my battery when i was driving, i put it back on and everything sparked like mad, engine revs dropped and voltage went back to normal. my capri voltage does go mad on startup tho for a couple of minutes? not sure why myself!
  9. ive spun it out a good few times aswell, dont worry about it, you learn from your mistakes, ive never hit anything while spinning out tho, just almost gone up the middle of one or 2 roundabouts. i once spun on a roundabout and a lorry came flying across as i was turning back round just missed me!

  15. where abouts was it nicked from in kent, im always between hastings and romford, i do a lot of drivin around all day every day in kent a lot aswell. i will keep my eyes peeled... EDIT: sorry i just read 1st page... i will keep my eyes open

That is absolutely rediculous, never in a million years whill he get all that power down will he? not saying thats a bad thing either, because what he will get down will still be enuff to scare the shite out of anyone who actually has fear in them! fair play to him! i do like a mk2 granny aswell
  18. want a mk3 cappa 2.8i rolling shell, not to fussy on the condition so long as its got some metal to weld to... want to do a 24v cosworth conversion but it seems that most of the stuff i need, a 2.8 already has so i wana start off with a 2.8 dont care about a few bits missing or condition of interior etc as its gona be a project anyway. my laser is just about fooked in every way apart from the pinto's good, thinking about breaking it although theres not that much good left on it tbh... <- thats an old pic by the way cheers
  19. 12:1, haha my mates think ive got a shit battery on my pinto, little do they know... so what would i need for this conversion because ive got a 2.0 laser, not a 2.8i and i know the 2.8s have extra strength and diffrent xmembers etc so would i be needing any of that, also, are cosworth v6's manual!
  20. it hasnt yet been down the track, i dont realy care if its N/A or not i just want something behind the back wheels so i can smoke all my mates plastics, pretty much does anyway but its not enuff i just looked, and found that v6 cosworths r below 10:1 CR, so does that mean i could ram a turbo or 2 on there if i really wanted?

  22. thats what i thought, i mean the YB has 10bhp more so i read, not sure about torque, but im willing to lose 10bhp for a v6, all my cars have been 4 pots so im up for a change, also one of my uncles customers (hes a mechanic) has a 24v cosworth mk3 granny, rotten and engine wiring problems, but still runs smooth, just gutless. basically nothing a carb wont sort out! me thinks an offer is in order lol
  23. my mk3 capri is now off the road until im happy with it, which includes a lot of welding, couple of new panels, some paint and one of the above! which of the 2 do u lot recon and y?
