  1. Brilliant stories there! I'm currently freezing my tits off writing for the third connection train! I once bought a Mustang off a guy in Ireland. We decided to meet at Liverpool docks... I had cash and was shit scared as I'm a little skinny wimp.
  2. Up at 5:30, on a four hour train journey to buy an old Escort.. It's a RS2000 mk1 with 2.1 pinto, twin 40s and type9 5 speed. I'll be driving back from Wales later on today. It feels like xmas. The RS2000 is my dream car, wanted one since I was a kid. I've had a 911 before but I know the escort will make me feel a lot more special. Forget, Porches, Ferrari, Lamborghini... Mk1 Escort is king! Anyone else has stories about traveling to a car?
  3. Thanks for the suggestion but I can't highlight it... you can only add bits to the bottom... It has 770 watches now and is on various Retards Club feeds so I think the message is out there.
  4. Classic car weekly have been in contact with me... so it may go in there. I'll try my local ... that's a good idea. Cheers Max
  5. Yellow ones got worn away... have some good red ones, only several 100 miles done!
  6. Thank you... job done, all posted up... http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/261407483994?ssPageName=STRK:MESELX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1558.l2649 I am staying old skool and another car will take it's place.
  7. My Dad got me into Escorts, he passed away 2 years ago with cancer. I bought the Wheeler Dealer Escort then spent good money on her to make her mechanicals match her looks. She is now running a great 1700 Ashton xflow, stage 2 head, 105speed manifold and full stainless steel exhaust and brand new twin 50s. I also added new leather covered RST seats, quarter bumpers and RS2000 mk 11 alloys. She is a 3 owner car, very straight and solid shell. I want to put her on eBay with some of the proceeds to go to Cancer Research. I will lose money on her but then who buys an old Escort to make money! My idea is to start the auction at £11,700... the price I paid, then anything above an agreed amount will be donated to Cancer Research. I know £11,700 for a standard Escort is a lot but please remember Wheeler Dealers spent around that to purchase and restore her! The paint job was a huge chunk! I have all the Wheeler Dealer receipts. What do you guys think? I want to raise money for Cancer Research and this seems like a good idea... Does anyone know a rich person who wants a TV car!
  8. Decent people here, even putting up with Vauxhalls!
  9. I have them on mine, fills the arches well.
  10. I love this forum, I love this Country, there are loads of people with strong opinions about immigration and it will turn into something horrible. My Dad was an immigrant, he came over in the 60s, he worked for 30 years for the NHS, he loved this Country, he worked really hard and paid all his taxes. He loved old Fords and got me into old Fords. He made many friends here from all back grounds. Take people as you meet them, talk to them, get to know them and you'll find that most people are just trying to get by and make a living... Please don't start a debate over immigration because it always leads to bad comments. I was born here, educated here and I love this Country more than anything. My wife is white English but I am brown... some people don't like me and that makes me sad because I don't mean harm to anyone. My kids are obviously mixed race and will always face discrimination but I teach them to laugh it off and make friends with everyone. Anyway, I agree with the opinions above, keep politics out of this and keep it old Skool Ford! Back to a better topic! My current car and old ones...
  11. Thanks 442, chap from Newcastle did them for me. I was very pleased and will keep them over originals, more support especially for my neck, I drove 160 mile round trip in more comfort than my 1300e standard Escort.
  12. Took these photos at Goodwood, love this car. Winner of 1972 RAC Rally driven by Roger Clark co driver was Tony Mason.
  13. It's a bit of a stupid poll really, why would anyone chose the standard over the 1700 on twin 45s...
  14. Rossmk2, you've got good taste...

You can get the negative feedback removed. I had an idiot who bought a mobile phone from me, who hadn't read the ad properly... he tried it on but eventually ebay agreed with me... took a while though.
  18. Happy belated New Year... Thanks for organising events as above... looking forward to driving more miles in 2014!
  19. I hope you don't have many speed bumps or a raised driveway, my lowered mk1 made me cringe every time the chassis rails scraped! LOL, good to hear you're getting stuck in.
  20. Car t shirt, chocolate, books, slippers and some lovely real ale. Got my son millennium falcon Lego set and Assassins Creed Black Flag game, daughter's happy with Sylvanian family school... Wife's got books and chocolate so she's happy... Need to get dinner sorted! Merry Xmas!

  23. RIP, read several articles about him and saw some of his speeches, seemed like a true gent... Bet he would've liked a mk 1 Escort...
  24. 80s thrash metal, Metallica, Megadeth, Anthrax and Slayer... Atari ST and Commodore Amiga, yes good times for me, except my Dad sold his mk1 Escort GT.
