Are you sure you hav'nt bent something on the flowting mechanism, causing the float needle the shut before the carburettors are filled. Or perhaps to little pressure, 3.5 psi dos'nt sound much to me

Yes a great show and a fine OSF stand. Prices was a little high, but it was funny to actually see and feel the differance in quality, on reproduced parts. Bought some strut-top plates and other strenghtning plates from Roy Nunn, just tried them on my Escort, and they fit like a glove. We left at 4 pm and had to drive to Stansted airport. Traffic was terrible and we just maneged to deliver our rental car, check in, go through security and had to run rest of the way to the plane, which left at 7.45 PM Perhaps next year will bee in the Escort. Think I missed that blue Focus - but I saw a mondeo

Had a simular problem some years ago but on a jelly-mould. I re-soldered all the connections on the back of the print using a solderingiron. It can be impossible to see which one is bad. It cured my problem.

A guy once told me about his extreme fast mk4 Escort 1.3L. It had a Cosworth Whaletail look a like rear spoiler and the bloke said that when it hits 200 km/h, the spoiler made 16 tons of down force and the car was like glued to the road. I just had one comment - thats one hell of a rear spoiler

It revs to 9000 rpm The one below has a N/A Cosworth.

It's recomended to have 1.5 x dia on studs. ex studs are 12mm thick, therefore 1.5 x 12 = 18 mm which would be 10-12 turns

It's alive After servicing the ignition a bit and 5 L gasoline in the tank I turned the key, and it made some serious backfire through the carb. Someone had changed the ignition leads and put them in 1 3 4 2 order - changing them back to 1 2 4 3 cured the misfire and it started, after a few attempts. After 7 - 8 years in a garage Go on the Crossflows. It sounds good but the waterpump seems to leak a little.

I'm going to check it thoroughly, and hope it can be saved. It's very rusty in some places, but I have some spare body panels from my other Escort project. The owner told me they where going to call a scrapyard later this week, and pay them to get rid of it

Since her husband passed away, she just left the car in the garage because she did'nt renew her drivers licence. So I did Despite some very rusty places... and 4 flat tyres Interior is fine - seats are as good as new (under the ugly covers, that is Inner wings and strut tops, looks ok The dog already loves the car... Refuses to get out of it

I was at a party a couple of weeks ago, and of cause a lot of the conversation was regarding old cars. A guy told me that he had seen an Escort sitting in a garage for years, covered in dust. He said that if I was into Escorts, I should go there and knock on the door, asking the owner if he would sell. Next day I went to the adress and found the Escort, with only the back visible through the gate. Unfortunately the owner did'nt live in the house, but I got his number and rang him. He was a little surprised and said he would consider and give me a ring in a weeks time. Today he rang back and told me it originally belonged to his father, but he passed away some years ago. We arranged to meet this Wednesday It's a silver mk2 2 door, and I'm trying not to have to high expectations. Pics will come wednesday

I have the same problem on my mk2 Escort Tried some 3M cleaning fluid and it was'nt any good. Will try something more aggresive

Go for it Antz... If you ask, and find it to expensive, that will be ok. But if you don't try I think you will regret it.

I think he is a top bloke, always makes a goood laugh. He certainly knows what he's writing, when it comes to old Fords and he has helped me more than once regarding advice for my project. I sent him some PMs and he answered with the measures/pictures I needed to continue my project, which was a great help. These PMs has also been removed from my in/outbox which I find a little weird ???? Does anyone know how to get in touch with Gaz ?

In my world Noz is considered a cheap way of making high BHP, 30 sec at the time. Its not real tuning and you won`t see it on either rally or racecars. Thumps up Gaz...

I think Ford made a mk2 2.0L with the ordinary flat front, but that was´nt a RS model. Never seen one

Hi mk1gaz are you using stainless steel bolts, because they tend to come loose if they are warm/cold. Think it´s because stainless expands different than ordinary steel when exposed to heat
