Might be worth getting it checked out just to be sure .
A few years ago now i remember we done an mot on a customers mk2 rally car , when i reversed it off the pit the diff made all sorts of noises and i said to the owner that the diff wasnt right , he told me that it was a lsd and they all done it , i tried pointing out i knew that but his still wasnt right even for a lsd , he told me that i was a young lad and didnt know what i was on about . The day of the rally came and 5 miles into the first stage his diff broke and he was out of the rally . He could of saved himself loosing alot of money if he had just listened to the idiot young mot test station lad .
Thats not good at all .You must speak as you find and a few years ago i went to the shop and bought alot of stuff for a mini , enyway when i got home and unwraped the quickrack i had bought it was a metro not mini so i phoned the shop and thay said they would sort it.THe next day there was aknock at the door and peter lloyd himself had bought the new rack to me . I live over 100 miles from the shop so i thought that was good customer service . Not good for his rep if this is how they now treet customers .
My bro in law works with computers (i dont know what, its to complicated for me ) but he told me to download the free advast , so thats what i run and have never had any problems , been using it for years now .
My old boss used to service all the local rally boys tranx type 9`s and only ever filled with atf . The company had a taxi that had done lots and lots of miles in its life and that had atf in the gearbox , that gearchanged and noise was the same the day it was bought to the day it was sold , never gave us problem. I would have no problem filling a type 9 with atf .
that's cos most decent folk have respect for other peoples tastes and ideas, but there's still a few that were'nt tought anything like that and think a mk1 escort on 175s is the only way to go, sad to see
Hear Hear , i totally agree.I`m a car nut so appriciate cars and the work that goes into them, whatever type .
I`ve seen that sorta damage from a prop uj letting go on a very high spec rally escort . The repair bill was in the £1000`s . Think you where very lucky just to break the gearbox.
