I think most people buy tickets a week or so before the show. I wouldn't stress about it, we've hardly sold any in the AVO club (which is normally the case at this stage). Those moaning emails are auto-generated I think.

I'm in dialogue with them as my car shows as non-exempt on their checker thing. Replies are useless and take ages. They've asked to see a copy of my V5 now, and I'm hoping that will be the end of it. Not that it really matters, as all of the cameras have been cut down anyway 😉

Shame it clashes with classic ford, I was going to give it a go this year but had already committed to classic ford. It is a nightmare trying to avoid date clashes, not much you can do really. Hopefully next year for me then.

The last drop of fuel coming out of my RS2000. Had to drain the tank to put it in my daughter's car so that she can get to work tomorrow, as there's no fuel to be bought anywhere. Crazy days.....

Sorry to hear it's been cancelled. I know how much goes into organising these events, so a real shame. But congratulations to you Chris, some good news in these crap times.

It's unfortunately clear now that AVO National Day will not be able to be held as planned in June. This is a huge disappointment in our big year, but there is no prospect of going ahead with it now on the planned date. We have booked a replacement date on 6th September with Hatton. It's our sincere hope that this will be achievable, and that the restrictions will have eased by then. Clearly though we can't guarantee that, but we will be working towards that date. Apologies to everyone for this, and we really hope that as many people as possible will be able to attend the new date in this important year for the club.

Due to the current situation this event has unfortunately been cancelled, and will probably take place in 2021 instead.

I think the largest gathering of 'proper' old school Fords happens the following weekend at the Lakes Tour. Personally I'd rather save the petrol money for that.

I've been on OSF since day 1, think I was one of the first 10 people to register. Used to go to the boxhill meets, and was on the london-brighton run mentioned in another thread, and was nice to see my car in the video. Not much of a contributor nowadays though I'm afraid, the AVO club takes all my time. I am in contact with Chris (mexican gerbil) though, and as I've said to him I'm happy to promote OSF events such as tour of the moor in Havoc if you like. Anyway, we don't normally sell the magazines, but I'm sure we could sort something out if people want one. I'd have to check how many we have left, but pm me anyway if you're interested. If there's interest in an OSF stand at AVO National Day then please let Graham know nationalday@avoclub.com . It's 40 years of the club this year + 50 year anniversaries for the Mexico and RS1600, so as long as the weather isn't as crap as this year we should have a good turn out. We've got some interesting cars coming, including the Car SOS Mexico which is making the trip over from Jersey. We had 28 Twin Cams in 2018 for their 50 year celebration, so hopefully the Mexico & RS1600 owners will rise to the challenge this year! Cheers, Stewart (chief lurker)
