  1. Jealous of that car, what a stunner.
  2. Nice, all around a great looking car. I like the chrome trim on the dash, the lettered tyres, the Mk2 grill and even the colour which looks similar to the maroon you get on Mk1 Cortinas, which usually isn't my cuppa at all!
  3. What a great first car! That looks a nice little fiesta, the wheels really suit that. Are they compomotives?
  4. If being called politically correct means not saying/thinking the word negro with two Gs then count me in.
  5. Can only echo what's already been said but what a brilliant looking car, if it drives only half as well as it looks I bet it's a lot of fun!
  6. I wish I could say the same, gutted I sold mine, just wasn't the right time for me to have a classic for various reasons, especially as a daily driver. You should show us how you're getting on with it, that sounds like an interesting project
  7. Like the minority of people that stood against Nazi Germany? Or the [original] minorities of people that protested against unjust wars like Iraq, Afghanistan and Vietnam? Nah, not f*ck anything like that; just need to take a just approach, inciting hate and stirring up tensions based on race, religion or any lack of respect for others should be a punishable offence. Bring back the birch!
  8. All I have to say is they saw that rich bugger coming and definitely took him for a ride. £50 mil? I've seen better looking things in the toilet bowl.
  9. Same as everyone else has said, what a brilliant job. Just goes to show what can be hiding underneath a seemingly good exterior (from the first pic)...
  10. I recall having top mounts similar to that in apperance on the Mk2, they're not specifically from Rally Design are they? Find it hard to believe someone plonked those in a Cortina!
  11. I suppose at the end of the day, something's worth what you're willing to pay for it; what's the rule of thumb with MK2s though, is there a general price range?
  12. Does that soon mean there'll be the Ford wars and Maltese boats will start kicking off at anyone that comes near their natural stocks of OSFs?
  13. Fair play, will have to have a look around. I don't understand why sometimes people pay almost 2k for a shell that needs a lot of work but this is seen as too expensive (I can't afford it at 5k anyway) I just don't know why? Anyone explain that one?
  14. What's with all the racial slurs at the start? Got fed up after that, what a arse.
  15. True enough about that black one, seems a good deal. Distance factors into things for me as well though, working shifts 6 days or nights a week doesn't leave much time for cross country jaunts.
  16. Try a bump when you've fitted the new parts? Nothing like rolling down a hill in a banger for a good laugh, till you've got to tow it back...
  17. If you have a look though, he reckons it's newly been fitted with a stainless steel exhaust, it has the unleaded head fitted and all in all it looks pretty tidy. What'd you recommend?
  18. Hello all, basically just wondering if anyone knew the car in the link below? I need another OSF, not even necessarily to mod, just a good runner and this one seems a good bet. Obviously I wanna get across and have a good look at the car before even thinking of putting money down but thought I'd ask if anyone here knew of it? http://www.carandclassic.co.uk/car/C165040 Also, I was going to say that almost 5k is a bit on the expensive side for me, good runner or not and wondered if 4 - 4.5k was a reasonable offer?
  19. That's sweet, especially when you keep in mind what you'd started with!
  20. Good luck with it, wish I'd realised how much fun cars are at 15/16 rather than 22. You young buggers probably know more than I do already! By the time you're in your 20s, you'll probably be stripping cars down and fabricating new panels for even the most rust laden projects for a laugh!
  21. I know this is probably going to sound daft but have you ever had a look at the Haynes manual for Weber carbs? It covers most of the carbs I've seen people using here and shows you how to set-up & service your own, it might be worth a look?
  22. Good choice, is that the red xr2 with pepper pots?
  23. The green Mexico in that gallery looks nice, I like that colour. With regards to the silver one though, I think the wheels would be better suited to some jap-crap car. Can see what he's gone for, like an update of a classic model but it just hasn't worked to my mind but then, different horses and all that.
  24. Yeah, Chris was saying he'd bought it off of Billy I think he also mentioned something about it being coated with truck paint to prevent the front wings rotting? Dunno, did have a few that night but bloody hell, that opened my eyes to what can be done; still wanting to get another 'tina so if you hear of any going local, send the good news my way!
