  1. That mk1 bubble arched is up for sale. I have 7x13 four spokes on and they just fit under with 175/50/13 tyres.
  2. I know a lot about this subject. I have worked as a fencing contractor to local housing associations for the last 15 years. I work with with people on benefits on a daily basis . I see them all. The ones that are taking the pi55, the ones that struggle and the ones that work but are worse off. It annoys me and it also distresses me. When social welfare and council housing was set up the whole principle was to help people out who were out of work or down on their luck. A council house wasn't a given right ( which people think now) and wasn't meant to be permanent. The biggest problem we face now is that before housing associations and councils , landlords etc used to get paid the rent directly to them from the government. Now the money goes to the tenant and its their responsibility to pay the landlord . Right now think about it... An alcoholic of drug addict or a poor single mum.... what are they going to do now they have an extra £90 a week to collect from the post office ... go to the pub.... get another fix....... pay off the debt collector etc. Its a scary situation that is making councils etc panic and will cost jobs in time . I am not against people in council houses or on welfare but things have got to change especially attitudes towards welfare and its purpose .
  3. Elite. What a load of........ How do they come to these conclusions god only knows ........
  4. Very nice Mickey . When l get back from the states I will be round to have a look!! Nice one mate.
  5. I don't know!! It's a left hooker. Apparently my friends boss had bought it for his son to play around with and has sat there ever since. When I meet up with him again on Sunday I will get some info. I was just amazed by the fact that there was this Anglia sat there amongst Million dollar cars and more impressively in a part of America that I would never thought I would see one!!!
  6. I am in Colorado USA at the moment on holiday. I went to my friends workplace to see the cars he had been working on. Stirling Moss's old Aston, a Ferrari , and old Jags etc. In the back part of the workshop something caught my eye. It' s a bloody rat black Anglia!!! My friend couldn't see the fascination with it. Here are some pics. I never thought I would see an Oldskoolford out here!!
  7. I am at Beaulieu that weekend this year at a show . Next year I will do that. I know that area well as go there every year!! Nice part of France with fantastic roads. Anyone else at Beaulieu this May 5th???
  8. Aircool did look at this and something wasn't right ( not sure what) it's been reduced as it was up for 25k.

  21. Really liked this!! My first car was a mk1 Fiesta on a R reg (1977) and was a 1100S in green.I then had a MK2 Escort van as I passed my test(the fiesta was being rebuilt) .The escort van was given to me by my older brother as he didnt want it!! I remember it was about 4 weeks before my driving test so i had to get it through an MOT etc.I loved it!! The only downside was I got constantly pulled over in it as the local plod thought i was driving round with stolen goodies in the back!!! At the time my brother in law had a mk1 Mex (genuine) and a mk2 escort. There was a breakers yard next to my dads lorry yard at the time so any parts were available!!!
  22. I think that's the right choice Mick. Don't rush it the right one will come up. It will be worth the waif for the right one. I will keep an eye out for you.
  23. Loads of people renew the vin plate when doing a restoration so it's very common place and not a shocker . If you are comfortable with the car and you think it's genuine then it's your choice. 20k for a mint rs2000 isn't over the top as long as its correct and been done properly. What you don't want is a 20k disaster .
  24. Nice car but proper money. Look we all know to get a car to that standard takes a lot of money. Personally I think 24k is a bit much however around 20k I think is acceptable as long as its genuine and a real pukka job.
  25. I spoke to the guy who is selling this when he put up for sale in December. At £8500 then the cost to get it restored to glory.....and we all know how much that costs!!! Keep looking there is better out there .
