Just had a text from a guy I know where I live asking if that was me in an escort this morning as he loved the smell and sound !

I got the mk1 escort out today and took off the spot lamps and fitted some new headlamps . Then spent all afternoon going to the pub for dinner with the wife and kids in it and then cruised around for a few hours. That's what I love about old fords they get you out there and enjoy driving !!!!!

I wouldn't run an air box just short trumpets. I have a manifold sorted. It should look quite cool!!

Thanks guys. Wanted to do it got sure but didn't want to pay out got carbs and they going fit. They will look cool on my car with the upgrades and will tidy the engine bay up.

I want to fit RBTM's and lower it 2". Will I have to fit 3" lowering springs to the front to compensate for fitting RBTM's??? I have heard that they can raise the front by 25mm when fitted. I don't want to buy the wrong lowering springs. Anyone had any experience of fitting these ?

On a estate where I do alot of work there is a mk1 cortina sat on a drive in full view !!! He doesn't drive it but he is chancing his luck . It has no security and not even blocked in.

That's a shame. I for one really enjoyed the show last year and was looking forward to this years show. I hope the Oldskoolford goes ahead even at a different venue and I know that there is probably lots of people on here including myself that would help to make it happen.

I have a 2.1 pinto in my mk1 escort . Is it possible to fit twin 48 IDF's downdraughts??? I have heard that they may not fit because they hit the bonnet. Has anyone fitted these to a mk1? Thanks.

Kents All Ford Show. This was a fantastic show last year at Aylesford Priory, Aylesford,Kent. There was a good turnout with plenty of oldskoolfords there. I will be attending this year again. If you haven't been try and go its worth it. Quite laid back like Wingspan show. I think this year it's Sunday 14th April. See you all there!!!
