Supercharged Nat Posted April 22, 2007 Report Posted April 22, 2007 lots of torque/ revs and extremely light front end! have a search on google, people out there build them for comps etc so theres lots of info out there on whats needed. just gota be applied to the base car. but you may have to strengthen the chassis considerably for when it lands again !
105Speed Posted April 22, 2007 Report Posted April 22, 2007 Helium in the front tyres...... 60 psi as side should do it
matt lewis Posted April 22, 2007 Author Report Posted April 22, 2007 sounds good will it still be road legal was just thinking of a ford racig v8 a concreet lump in the back bigger wheels and tyres on the back and skiony ones on the frunt that would help and all right ???
Nettles Posted April 22, 2007 Report Posted April 22, 2007 Helps if you've got any fat mates. Squeeze as many as you can onto the back seat and into the boot then floor it!
Jimsiss Posted April 22, 2007 Report Posted April 22, 2007 hydraulics/air ride to make the wheels get off the ground initially, then lots of torque and a wheelie bar to maintain it
Retromotorsport Posted April 22, 2007 Report Posted April 22, 2007 simple maths equation ... its all down to "moments around a beam" and fulcrums. if the weight at the front weighs 'X' then the force applied at the fulcrum point (the rear wheels ) must more equal or more than 'X' The problem being its easy to get the power (ft/lb) at the wheels, its transmitting that power to the ground, because without the grip your power is only going to be equal to the grip (newtons laws) or .. a 1000ft/lb or torque going through wheels that are capable of only transmitting 100 ft/lb will only create a 100lb of lift the lighter the front end the less grip required to do the lifting ... and its grip that does the lifting not power really, its easy to get the power to lift the front .. one man and long pole can lift the front end up
escort21 Posted April 22, 2007 Report Posted April 22, 2007 Have you seen the wheelie corvette at santa pod. Uses water tanks for balance weights...
