Making it lighter comes for free to a point but it depends if you use it daily.

You can junk carpets, sound deadening, spare wheel, rear seats, bits of trim, heater box - if its a creature comfort or cosmetic then show it the door!

But if it's a daily car then squeeze a bit more power out of it

make your own manifold? Must be pretty good with the TIG then? Also make sure you get each extractor the same length and correct diameter or you will end up making it worse!

Amen to that, TIG welding Ally is quite a skill, it took me ages to master it. If you're talking about an inlet manifold there are some quite complex shapes involved so it's not something you can have a quick bash at and score a reasonable success rate like mig welding patches onto your car.

I haven't done ally TIG for years and despite once being very good at it I suspect I'd struggle now.

lol, to my memory it's got no carpets, deadening, spare wheel, rear or passenger seat, center console, not sure about the heater, not much more to take off

chop the roof, that's gotta weigh a bit surely?

start off with a carbide bit 1st then then tidy up with some mdeium stones then id finish off with 400 grit wet and dry, but the head will need cleaned out after that to get rid of any particles

dont go too smooth on the inlet side either, someone i know went mirror finish and the car wouldnt run right due to the fuel and air not mixing/atomising properly!
