best free program for getting rid of spyware?

can any1 advise a program to get rid of spyware cos im sure my pc has got some on it as i have started getting popups and i have 2 popup blockers and neither are working on these specifick popups and a popup keeps telling me to download called drivecleaner

 

any help would be much apreciated

Spybot: www.spybot.de and Adaware are the ones I use. You can get AVG Free online too.

 

My favourite is Spybot. Easy to use and good features including being able to stop programs from running even if you can't delete them

The best one i have found is crack cleaner mate, and I have been through them all, the amount of porn and bad stuff my screen gets to see i need it

Or Windows Defender, free from Microsoft. As already said some are better than others.

How so?

IIRC it clashes with a windows security update... stopped me using my pc for several days...

 

eventually i found that if i used an old system restore point and uninstalled it i could get my pc to work again...

Had it on mine over a year with no problems?? I've had the most trouble with norton, made my pc run slower than a one legged ant with some heavy shopping.
