Mr.Sumo Posted May 17, 2007 Report Posted May 17, 2007 Chill Winston................. The joys of OSF ownership i am afraid m8....least you didn"t come home from work to find your car clamped
Admin Vista Posted May 17, 2007 Admin Report Posted May 17, 2007 I think we all get hacked off with them now and again, but I've never lost my rag enough to lob a spanner at it. What sorts of problems are you having?
sab6024 Posted May 17, 2007 Report Posted May 17, 2007 I have been like this before. I had a gorgeous red Mk1 Escy that my boyfriend bought for me the day after I rolled my blue one. Lovely to look at but no end of troble with it. In the six months I had it I managed to break 3 gearboxes, 4 props, 3 alternators and the motor. Guess who was popular? Boyfriend had the car back tried to sort it but it needed stripping and rebuilding. He sold it to a mate who gave it a respray and bought it back months later. It's now used for Hillclimbs. We was both pretty pi***d with it. Don't remember throwing anything at it though.
antz Posted May 17, 2007 Report Posted May 17, 2007 yep...it sucks....my car is unlicky cos everything goes wrong!! a 10min job takes 3 hours!

atomic punk Posted May 17, 2007 Report Posted May 17, 2007 I hate both of mine at the moent. The Cortina hant turned a wheel since February its lucky that its in a safe garage a few miles away so I cant wallop it. I must admit tho I did wallop my Escort with a hammer when I got pissed off with it last weekend, luckily it was on the rear valance which I then chopped out But I cant bring myself to sell either, I forget all the frustration as soon as I turn the key (unless of course it wont start )
badchild Posted May 17, 2007 Author Report Posted May 17, 2007 In hindsight maybe i did say a couple of harsh words like owning a saxo! The rest is true enough, i just hate the fact that it's sitting at the back of my house doing nothing, the back seats bolts are missing, doorcards are fcuked, servo needs bolted in, brakes need plumbed up, speedo cables snapped, seats wont tilt, pedals are still lying in bits cause the servo, baottery tray needs replacing, need a coil, needs new bushings, needs new exhaust, spare wheel well could now prob do with welding as its sat outside since i got it, i could go on, it's all just wee fittery bits but when people are constantley letting you down it fcuks you off plus the fact the fella took £4200 off me cause im not 'mechanically minded' and said it was ready for mot and to top it all off i got brake pipes made and they are the wrong ones and after a hard day at work i just flipped and threw the spanner at it , thats another thing needs fixed ah well, ill be kicking myself tomorrow

I suggest approaching it one task at a time, and focus on it till it's complete, you'll be surprised how quickly they get ticked off. You can do two them easily, save weight by losing the back seat, then you won't need the bolts, nor will you need your front seats to fold, job's a goodun!

mk2_escort_chick Posted May 17, 2007 Report Posted May 17, 2007 I hope my cars love me, although the fez is gonna be naked at the weekend. The interior is going bye bye!
Noodles Posted May 17, 2007 Report Posted May 17, 2007 Iv been there mate, I got so fed up with mine a had a cooling off period of 6 months!
Jimbob-Squarepants © Posted May 18, 2007 Report Posted May 18, 2007 I am still there mate You wouldn't believe the amount and size of problems I have had by replacing a Pre Crossflow engine with... A Pre Crossflow! My mind boggles!!! As Vista said, make a list, and tackle each job one at a time. Other than that, do what I do when I have the sulks... Go to shop, buy shite loads of Choccy and Pop, and go home and munch yourself stupid. If I drank alcohol, I would probably be an alcoholic by now
badchild Posted May 18, 2007 Author Report Posted May 18, 2007 Only joking! I hate the bastard at the best of times but I don't think I could bring myself to get rid of it, it would be like losing a testicle
rooky1 Posted May 18, 2007 Report Posted May 18, 2007 good just have to get your second wind buddy it will all come good in the end.
RedditchJay Posted May 18, 2007 Report Posted May 18, 2007 NEVER GET SO PISSED OFF YOU THROW THINGS. I did once at my Yamaha and I lobbed a spaner at the floor, it bounced up, hit the tank, smashed the plastic screen, smashed the rev counter. YOU soon learn that £550 later it wasnt worth that moment of rage. I still get mad on occasion and now have a gym in the garage so use the punchbag when wound up... it helps
