So the Prefect will be off to a new home soon and the reason for her leaving is sitting on my drive now

Now she is a Ford and very old skool.Right hand drive as well but built in South Africa.Does that mean I have to leave now :(

What do you think?

She's a 1972 Ford Fairlane 500.Thats a 351cui(5.75ltr)V8  .Sounds bloody awesome.I've been driving about all day with a stupid grin on my face every time I pass a building I have to have the window down.Think I'll drive down to Dartford tomorrow so I can spend all day going through the tunnel :D

Built in South Africa in '72 and imported into this country in '73 from what the previous owner has told me and he was the second owner.I think they were a bit behind the Yank models so it looks like the late sixties's Americans. From what I've read so far it's the same as the Austrailian cars.Could be wrong though.

yeah im well into my yanks and i thought it was a '66

I know nothing about it mate,I thought it looked more sixteis too but the guy I bought it off has owned it for 20 years and he bought it from the original owner and he says it's a '72.

Plus I've found some pics of '72 Australian cars and they are defo the same as mine.So I guess Ford must have shipped out all the run out stock to Oz and SA when the model finished in the States.

But if anyone knows different please do let me know.

Cheers Sean.
