You should know that attaching a wink to the end of your statement does little to dilute the effect of the insult you're making.

 

I and everyone else like me deduces from your statement that you feel that it's only Harris equipped cars that are worthy of your time and compliments. It may have escaped your notice to date but as a site we function as a group of friends, some have met each other others have not, occasionally we fall out over trivial things but pretty soon we're friends again.

 

What however we do not do is throw out "my car is better than yours" type statements! I for instance own quite a valuable OSF and just for the record it has some serious punch and is definitely not Harris equipped! Regardless of my own cars status, I've as much time for anyone trying to restore a base model rusty 4 door with a tired 1300 X-flow as I do for anyone else and will lend as much of my own knowledge as I can to help them. If you feel otherwise then I must suggest that OSF is not the place for you.

 

While we're at it, have you considered the harm you're doing to the Harris engine name by throwing out such arrogant statements? There are plenty of other good engine builders that the 7000+ members on here can go too if you alienate them against a brand that I suspect you are related too rather than actually know a great deal about! If you truly were in possession of any real engineering knowlege you'd respect good performance and hard work regardless of who had laboured to achieve it!

i have mucho respect for anyone who can build engines like the harris's but there's no point getting arrogant about it, wink or not it's not gonna be very constructive is it? i'd also like to point out, it's not the engine builders with the bulk of the experience that are showing off here, they let their work do the talking for them.

 

ps. let's have a go at people's spelling like grown ups shall we?

I've noticed on internet forums that whatever an arguement is about, it always quickly boils down to whether correct grammar/punctuation/spelling is used....

Ok, i didnt really mention anything about engines in this thread i only commented on my car which i have put alot of time and effort into building myself, i didnt mean to offend anyone with that comment but i just got a little frustrated because it felt like others were having a go at me. I do appreciate the rules of this site and will think twice about the reply i am about to send next time. Also if you read other forums where i have replied you will see that i do praise other members cars and hard work too.

To be fair mate I don't think what you said was that bad, theres been lots of comments like that from people connected to HPE & I think you just happened to take the flack! Nothing wrong with a bit of cockiness as far as I'm concerned - as long as you're man enough to take it as well!
