Daggle Posted June 27, 2007 Report Posted June 27, 2007 Yeh it does creep up on you, A few weeks ago, I was in a pursuit trying to catch up with the following vehicle and the bandit, then I see them on the A2, on the horizon, so I say to myself Yes, im in just a few minutes, im on the back of the motor, then its ramming time. The only unfortunate thing was though that no-one had said on the radio that the vehicle had stopped and the driver de-camped, so in literally milli-sceonds I go from 'Yes, im nearly in" to "Oh shitttt" I brake hard, and I mean HARD, swerve past the Police vehicle and the bandit. I run past the bandit vehicle, and then stop. When I review the in car video, I am still doing 75mph when I pass the bandit vehicle. So yes, you need a LOT of room to slow yourself down

Fastest car I've driven is probably my old Mercedes SLK, I guess technically as my escort is almost as powerful as it but much lighter it should be quicker. But in my experience, cars that were designed to be driven fast from the outset are definitely easier to drive fast with confidence than ones that weren't. For instance I reckon my escort on paper would have a top speed similar to the Merc but in practice I'd have bottled it much earlier in the Escort than the Merc.
cyrix Posted June 27, 2007 Report Posted June 27, 2007 BMW 760Li - Bad thing is you have no idea you are going so quick, I think its limited to 155mph, I know its capable of a lot more though.

sab6024 Posted June 28, 2007 Report Posted June 28, 2007 I drove my ex's Sapphire Cossie one night and I was poodling along about 60mph when some muppet in his Clio went past me. My ex didn't wanna be shown up by some french crap so told me to boot it. I past Clio boy and backed off from 120mph. Too chicken I was My brother took me out in an RS6 once and hit the limiter (155mph) that's some quick motor. He won't be doing that for a few days tho. He got banned at 115mph on the M5
