Got the head off and wasn't suprised at the sight that met me!... But I was when i got the offending piston out Has done all 4 pistons and bores and worst of all damaged the head More work puddy

Head ain't too bad,just was hoping I wouldn't have to pull that apart as well All the ally peeled off of the rod,untouched underneath that,no blueing and the little end bush is perfect,sturdy things those carrillos General consensus is not enough fuel Pistons are with ike to copy the machining so should have the short motor built quite quickly,stripped the 4x4 oil pump today as well,thats fine so I cleaned that up ,re filled it with oil and sealed it up. Sump has also been in the parafin bath for a couple of days so thats spotless as well. Crank looked ok ,so the new bearings will be fitted back with that. puddy

Toby Posted July 1, 2008 Report Posted July 1, 2008 How good are you at ally welding toby ? puddy More than willing to give it a go - although I must warn you I've not done any before So sounds like the head, crank, rods are all alive to fight another day, you have new pistons and block so should be done for the Ace tonight!

Didn't quite make the ace toby,hw about you ? Nice having a moan about the kids with you as well, lotusless at chelsea the other night puddy

For anyone that does not know ike, he is the guy in retro ford mag every month lately doing stuff for morley at sussex performance centre, I've known him for over 20 years and count him as a mate puddy
