Vw twin turbo v6 out of a passat,

vr6 supercharged,

13b turbo, jag v12,

v10 viper engine,

v10 from the new m5 or older v8's.

straight 6 m3 engine.

New corvette v8 (ls2?)

Scooby or evo engine (urgh)

 

jet engine (it can be done to drive the wheels)

ive seen a jag v12 lump in a capper and that was just awesome... but in all fairness i dont care what goes in what as long as it is a good engine... no point putting all that work in for little gain is there?

 

now as with cars for engines, Vs (6 8 10 or 12) suit the bigger cars as they have more torque obviously. but in smaller lighter cars anything is fair game really

 

i still wanna see a 4age in an escort i think that would go like the clappers...

or even the silver top twenty valve engine....

I think it depends on what car we are talking about really.

A capri will swallow a shit hot V8 engine whole and we all know they should have them in anyway.

For an escort, nothing other than a 4 cylinder engine is right really. A YB turbo, an XE, a 2.0 Vtec thingy, just as someone said, it has to be worth all the effort though so it would have to be powerfull.

For an anglia...well i just think they kind of suit having something wierd in them like a wankel or something.

Mk1 and mk2 cortina's, keep it old skool man, N/A cossie is nice though. Just my opinions.

if you can do it cheap then go for it,but surely a c20 let will possably need more mods to go in than a yb?

i would personaly go for a honda engine,but then again it all depends on budget

i know some one who is selling a sierra with the new 4.6l mustang v8 and all running gear £1500 there small engines and would get mpg on par with a tuned twin cam its got everything t5 box rad etc etc that would turn your van it to somthing very special and you can get silly hosre power out of them

I had a Mk2 estate with a 2.3 diesel in a few years back ...

 

I would say any engine in any car as long as it delivers the goods for the least work.. The Yb wins hands down there.

 

As for V8... the yb does the same job for half the work

 

But i must admit i'm a fan of Na engines ... Turbos scare me , allthough with good mapping a few are getting closer to the delivery of NA engines.

 

But the main point here is what will it do.. A 500 hp engine on 175's will never deliver 500 hp untill your approaching 200mph

At 0mph you'll just be spinning the wheels.. and 200 hp will do that.

 

Ive driven V8 Anglias.... horrid horrid car, felt like the front corner was going to head undergrond when pushed through a corner.

I've driven V8 escorts... yes a 9.90 in that was quick... but again it didnt like corners

I've driven a V8capri... nice car.. well built and handled. Think Capris suit the 8's

As for some of the other engines... work to fit /bang for buck ratio comes into for me..

As for fitting something stupid like a V12 in a small car .. some may say WOW.. but i would be saying what a waste. (unless it was midmounted in a Capri..lol)

i can see where your coming from and me and my mates are split cossies etc verse v8 s but at the risk of upsetting a few people what would you rather read about another cossied escort or one with a small block in it and with a lot of the new v8 s being alloy the weight isnt as much of an issue any more . Imagine an ls7 in that van with a bit of tuning 500+ bhp na or 1500 hp twin turbo ed ok that may be a bit over the top but a mild small block ? that would be fun and a lot more reliable than a cossie
