Obviously there are two schools of thought with regards what engines we should or shouldn't fit in our beloved old skool Fords. School A believes that only Ford engines should be seen in old Fords School B believes that any engine is game as it's still a Ford on the outside Winter is on its way and i've got an itch to get down and dirty with the Morley fleet. I am a student at school B i'm afraid. So one of the selection of project cars will be getting a Ford engine which is rarely converted to RWS, the other may well be getting a Vauxhall with a difference Why are some people so against non-Ford engines in a Ford? If you don't have a problem with non-Ford engines in old Fords, obviously the XE is a common conversion, what would you like to see more of? AAAAAAAAnnnnnnnddddd Discuss...

At the Ripon Racecourse show the other week I got talking to a guy who lives local to me, who has a very nice Morris Minor convertible with a 1700 crossflow in.

It was about 1998 I reckon.

Well.....as long as it wasn't french, as far as i'm concerned the entire frech automotive industry is a waste of metal.... I happily put a Vaux, C20 LET, Chevy, Rover or anything between the towers. Power, at the end of the day, is still power. Chris
tim Posted October 12, 2006 Report Posted October 12, 2006 be boring if we all like the same, id put a non ford engine in2 any shell rs or base apart from a RS1800 shell were a bda should stay, the guy who has just justed joined osf with the 2 4 doors is guna tdci his mk2 this winter,am stickin with a pinto block for my mk2 as i want 2 sprint and hill climb with it.8v vauxhall engine is ment 2 be a good engine
